Global Biodata Coalition

The Global Biodata Coalition (GBC) is a forum for research funders to better coordinate and share approaches for the efficient management and growth of biodata resources worldwide. The GBC aims help funders ensure sustainable financial support for the global biodata infrastructure and in particular to identify for prioritized long-term support a set of Global Core Biodata Resources that are crucial for sustaining the broader biodata infrastructure (https://globalbiodata.org/). This collection includes content associated with activities undertaken by the GBC, and relating to the remit of the GBC.

Submissions are welcome on topics such as:

  • the global biodata resource landscape, extending to national or local policies and strategies of interest to a global audience

  • strategies and policies relating to biodata resource sustainability

  • impact of data management policy requirements on biodata resources

  • the value or return on investment of biodata resources for the research community or society as a whole
