Open Science Community Saudi Arabia

Open Science improves the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of science, which is not yet the norm in research. While pioneering scholars are developing and embracing Open Science practices, the majority sticks to the status quo. To move from pioneers to common practice, we need to engage a critical proportion of the research community. This is where Open Science Communities come into play.

Although there is an increasing number of initiatives in Saudi Arabia to connect researchers, there is no single community dedicated to stimulating responsible research practices and Open Science policies. 

Therefore, we initiated an Open Science community in Saudi Arabia to provide a place where newcomers and experienced peers interact, inspire each other to embed open science (research) practices and values in their workflows and provide feedback on policies, infrastructures and support services. Together working to make Open Science the norm in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Our community is part of the International Network of Open Science & Scholarship Communities (INOSC).
