The Planet Pipeline GUI came from the actual CLI (command line interface tools) to enable the use of tools required to access control and download planet labs assets (PlanetScope and RapidEye OrthoTiles) as well as parse metadata in a tabular form which maybe required by other applications.

• [Planet Key]-Multi user approach so anyone can bring their own planet API key and can change keys as needed
• [AOI JSON]- Since most people may not want to structure the JSON file used by Planet API this tool allows you to bring your own geospatial data, and convert it to an acceptable format.
• [Activate or Check Asset]- This checks or activates the assets of interest.
• [Download Size]- This allows you to check download size
• [Download Asset]-This download assets and metadata files post activation
• [Metadata Parser]-This tool finally parses all metadata in tabular form to be used in other applications
