README

The submission was prepared to accompany the publication Haberle, Hackenberger et al. "Effects of climate change on gilthead seabream aquaculture in the Mediterranean" in Aquaculture (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aquaculture.2023.740052).

The simulations source code is available through GitHub repository at:

The Zenodo archive contains GeoTIFF images underlying the figures in the publication.

The main folder contains 3 subfolders:
- Indicators_simulations_SI_Appendix_B
- Indicators_change
- Impact_baseline_temp_SI_Appendix_C

The filename nomenclature uses following abbreviations for the 6 selected indicators:
1) Mean sea water temperature during 2 year rearing period - MTEMP2Y
2) Number of days with sea water temperature equal to or above 28°C - NBRD2Y
3) Time to market - TTM
4) FCR at TTM - FCRen
5) FCR at 2 years - FCR2Yen
6) Weight at 2 years - W2Y

Folders:
# Indicators_simulations contains 36 GeoTIFF files coresponding to simulations of 6 indicators for 2 IPCC RCP climate change scenarios (RCP 4.5 and 8.5) and 3 rearing periods (reference period 2021-2023, mid-term 2051-2053, long-term 2091-2093).
The nomenclature of the files is SS_YYYY_IIII.tif (e.g. 45_2051_MTEMP2Y.tif) where:
- SS stands for climate change scenario: 45 for RCP 4.5, and 85 for RCP 8.5
- YYYY stands for rearing period: 2021 for reference, 2051 for mid-term, 2091 for long-term
- IIII is the abbreviation of the indicator (eg. MTEMP2Y)
These files underly the figures in the Appendix B of the publication SI.

# Indicators_change contains 20 GeoTIFF files coresponding to mid-term and long-term changes of 6 indicators for 2 IPCC RCP climate change scenarios (RCP 4.5 and 8.5).
The nomenclature of the files is SS_IIII_YY_21.tif (e.g. 45_MTEMP2Y_51_21.tif) where:
- SS stands for climate change scenario: 45 for RCP 4.5, and 85 for RCP 8.5
- IIII is the abbreviation of the indicator with the prefix 'd' indicating 'delta' (e.g. dMTEMP2Y) or 'ratio' (in the case of FCR; ratioFCRen)
- YY indicates rearing period of interest: 51 for mid-term, 91 for long-term
- 21 indicates the reference period used to calculate the difference, i.e. simulation for the 2021-2023.
Mid-term changes of each indicator were calculated by substracting reference period simulations from the mid-term simulations (2051-2021).
Long-term changes of each indicator were calculated by substracting reference period simulations from the long-term simulations (2091-2021).
The change of FCR was expressed in terms of ratio, i.e. mid-term or long-term simulation was divided by the reference period simulation (2051/2021, 2091/2021).
These files underly the figures in the main text of the publication.

# Impact_baseline_temp_SI_Appendix_C contains 6 GeoTIFF files coresponding to changes of indicators between the RCP 4.5 reference rearing period (45_21) and the RCP 8.5 mid-term rearing period (85_51).
The nomenclature of the files is IIII_85_51_45_21.tif, where IIII stand for the abbreviation of the indicator, as described above.
These files underly the figure in the Appendix C of the publication SI.
