Etsy, Etsy, Etsy.
I'm Brie Pettis.
And I'm Julie Schneider.
This is an Etsy how-to.
We're going to learn how to go-co print.
Go-co is a self-contained, screen printing apparatus.
Everything you'll need to print go-co comes in this one kit.
Oh!
The image you create must have carbon in its ink.
This could be a photocopy or a print from your laser printer.
Or you can use special go-co pens that look like this.
And the ink and these contain enough carbon
to show up for your print.
Before you print, you're going to want to have all your paper,
all cut to size, and ready.
The maximum print area of your image
is approximately 3 and 1 half by 5 and 1 half inches.
So make sure it's no larger than that,
or your image will be cropped.
This is the go-co printer.
You have a sticky print pad to hold your image with a grid.
This is the light fixture.
And these are the inks.
These are inks for paper, which are oil-based.
So now we're ready to burn our screen.
Line up our image on the center of the sticky print pad.
You'll need to screw in two bulbs.
They're flash bulbs, so they're single use.
They're coated in a toxic chemical.
So wash your hands when you're done.
So fit that in so it's snug.
This is your screen that will be burning.
Put it in blue side facing out, so it'll
fit right under here and snug at the top.
Before you print, make sure you have two AA batteries
in the top here.
So just put your hands up the corners here
and push down with some muscle.
There you go.
Once it flashes, that's a good sign.
Pull this out.
They'll be really hot, so don't touch them.
You can smell them burning a little bit.
You've got a screen.
One of the benefits of printing with GOKO
is that you can print two colors at the same time
on the same screen.
Ink block is just gray foam with an adhesive backing.
It comes in a package that looks like this.
It acts as a physical barrier to keep the ink from spreading
to other areas of your image.
So the idea here is there's going to be one color around here
and then two different colors in here,
and this stuff keeps the ink from spreading around.
This is cool.
It's going to be multicolors.
So you just trace the lines of your image.
So if you've inked your screen generously,
you can print up to 50 times without having to re-ink.
This is insanely easy, and it's so much fun.
It's addictive.
Get yourself set up and make a sweet card for your sweetie.
And put the rest in your Etsy shop.
Teaching a class on GOKO printing.
Check out my students' work.
My dad made some cows.
I have some houses on envelopes.
I have hands on note cards and envelopes.
I'm working on some thank you cards.
I have some red balloons here.
And right now, we're just the first layer,
but the second layer is going to have a little ghost
holding a balloon, which will be red.
All right, there we go.
Classes are in action here at the Etsy Labs.
If you make GOKO prints, I'd love to see it.
So just leave a link in the comments.
La, la, la, la, la.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
