So 6 a.m. just popped out the door the sun has yet to rise and we're heading on
another grand-old adventure. My question to you guys today is what's a place
that you've always wanted to return to? Alright so the most crucial element to
kick-starting this morning is a good feed and a bit of caffeine and right now
we're about to go to good old-fashioned Aussie Bakery Heatherbrays Pires on the
Hume Highway. So the verdicts in ladies and gents definitely not the best meat
pie I've ever had but pretty good regardless. Time to get back on the road.
These fellas are mocking me they think that my review of the meat pies some
sort of joke but I take my meat pies quite seriously. I'm going to your gorge
down there in the background. Alright so the boys and I have just commenced the
red track which goes down through the canyon. It's a 3.8 kilometer circuit and
it's predicted to take around four to five hours. Been here once or twice
before and checked it out from above and I've always wondered what it's gonna
look like down below. To answer this week's question one place that I wanted
to return to is Bungonea Gorge and that's what I'm doing today. I hope there's an
emergency stop and bay at the bottom of this hill because the brakes are gonna
burn out pretty quick. I'll tell you what that's a million times better than tap
water. So we're down here in the Bungonea Gorge. It was a pretty treacherous
descent but a hundred percent worthwhile. I'm feeling pretty belittled right now.
You can hear the echo of my voice. I really feel at one with nature and
disconnected from the day-to-day race. This is what it's all about. Exploring
what Australia and the world has to offer.
I'm kind of lost for words right now to be honest. I did not quite expect this.
What we walked through before was more of like a little rock garden. This is a
freaking boulder field. We better get a hustle on because there's not too much
daylight left and it's meant to start raining later on so onwards and soon
upwards. So after five hours hiking and easily the most challenging hike I've
ever done in my life. Bloody well exhausting. Some of those last parts
we were literally climbing up the hill. That's how steep it was. If you really
want to check it out make sure that you're physically able to do it. Take a
lot of food, take a lot of water and just be ready to conquer a severe climb on
the way back up. Once again thank you for tuning in to this week's episode of
Captivated. Be sure to leave a like on this video and a comment as well with
some feedback. Let me know what you thought whether you've been on some epic
hikes or whether there's a place that you really want to go back to and visit.
Anyway make sure you subscribe and turn on post notifications for a new video
every Wednesday. I'll see you guys next week.
