Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, how are we doing out there in New York?
We want to give a very, very warm welcome to one of the truly great ladies of song.
Let's give it up for Miss Catherine Russell.
I'm shooting high, got my eye on a star in the sky
I'm shooting high, I cover the waterfront
I'm watching the sea, we're the one I love becoming back to me
He's right out before he passes, he's out to get the masses, so look out for public penalty number one.
How y'all doing? You doing alright?
I visited the Lewis Armstrong archive at Queens College.
At one point, Ricky Ricardi said, I'm going to put this tape on and I want you to identify who the people are.
So he put the tape on and I heard this female voice singing and I said, that's my mother.
This is the copy of a letter, my father Lewis Russell wrote to Lewis Armstrong, May 12, 1961.
Here are three numbers that we put together. Please try them out and see if you can do something with them.
If we can get going on a few good ones, ASCAP will take care of us in our old age.
Lucy, you make my day begin, whatever mood I'm in depends on you, Lucy.
Just you, Lucy.
Thank you.
Thank you.
