Hormwood Empire presents Unlocking the Secrets of the Mission Inn, in Riverside, California.
There was no bigger promoter for Riverside and the Inland Empire than Frank Miller.
He and his family owned the Mission Inn, up until the 1950s.
He knew that anything good for Riverside was good for his hotel.
From the beginning of the 20th century all the way to his death in 1935, Frank Miller
was the most gracious host and haunted empire believes that nothing has changed, even after
his death.
For well over a century, the Mission Inn has been tending to its guests.
During good times and bad, when a world has had its ups and downs, we live and we die,
and though people come, they don't always go.
The Mission Inn seems to have more ghosts, than guests.
Let me tell you, what we know.
After checking into your room, may we suggest that you wander the halls of this historic
hotel.
But let us warn you that the people that pass you by, may not always, be alive.
Just be aware that when you take a second look, they might vanish into thin air.
The Mission Inn seems to be a very active place.
Where each night there is a game, of hide and ghost seek.
This incident has happened on more than one occasion.
And the bell captains and desk clerks have told us about new limits checking out in the
middle of the night, without explanation or prior notice.
Even though the honeymoon suite is one of the best rooms in the hotel.
It does have what they call, some extra baggage.
A young couple told us, there is a chair in their room, that walks back and forth on its
own, and it won't stop.
When they are ready for bed, the TV decides that it would turn on and off, over and over,
without anyone touching the remote.
Then they heard a knock at the door, they were hoping that it was housekeeping, here
to correct the problems of the night.
But before they could open the door, a woman lets herself in, and starts inspecting the
room, which was fine they said, but the whole time she was ignoring their inquiries.
Then, when it seems that she is done, she walks through one wall, and into the other.
Leaving them, in disbelief.
Some have said that it was Aunt Alice, doing what she has done for years.
But which Alice is it?
Frank's sister or daughter?
One guest even said that he was woken up, by something he thought, was talking to him.
When his eyes focused, he was able to see, right above him, the ghost of a woman inches
away from his face, acting like she was whispering in his ear.
Seems as if, one of the Alice's, has something to say at the old inn.
It was time to go home, for three mission in employees.
They decided to leave through a different section of the hotel that night.
Walking and talking, they entered the music room at about three in the morning.
And the piano began to play on its own.
The room was empty and there was no one around.
Then suddenly, a black shadow darted across the wall.
Looking at each other in disbelief, the three friends shrugged it off to being tired.
Then the piano started playing again.
Sending the three frightened women, speeding through the air and out the door.
In just a short amount of time, we were able to find more and more instances, of paranormal
activity than we could have ever imagined.
This is why, we believe that the mission inn is the most haunted location in the Inland
Empire.
Make sure you look for the next episode in the coming weeks, about the mission inn,
in Riverside, California.
