Jamaica
Jamaica
You ask the average person why.
Why do you want to go to Jamaica?
And depending on the person being asked,
you'll get any one of a hundred different answers.
Taking pictures in a naturally beautiful tropical paradise.
Maybe one of the answers.
Hiking the ecologically honest trails of Jamaica.
Feeling the white sand between your toes on beaches that kiss crystal clear blue waters.
The warm breeze gently massaging your face.
Cool rain on a hot day.
And the amazing smell of Mother Earth after the rain.
Catching Janga in an undiscovered mountain stream in the hills of Jamaica.
Communing with rest of Orion's long since escaping the rat race of our times.
Getting reacquainted with a heritage seemingly long forgotten.
Embracing a culture that the world seems to crave.
The mystical Jamaican culture.
Talking with descendants of your descendants.
The maroons.
And so it goes.

There is one other reason for visiting Jamaica.
A reason that will become more and more important
as people begin to read the labels attached to their food.
It is called food tourism.
That is my prediction.
Food tourism is a break from artificial, petroleum based, waste based food.
A break from food with names that are unpronounceable, much less good for you.
Foods genetically engineered for profit rather than for your health.
Or so it would seem.
Jamaica food tourism is going to be big business.
The small farmers will once again gain their rightful place in Jamaica for the world's sake.
Imagine if you will.
Going to a place where you eat real food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
No labels or disclaimers on your meals.
No poisons for your body.
All naturally produced food.
Imagine that.
