I think one of the unique things about what we do as a firm is that we do quite well both
residential and commercial architecture.
Our history sort of was born out of residential work, but we're very grateful to continue
to do more and more commercial work.
The two things remain consistent and one is we're a design firm.
We love to design, we love to carry design into all aspects of things, and we love our
clients and we like caring for our clients, trying to constantly evaluate what can we
do to care for our clients better.
The team here at Dowry-Pasalis is deeply invested in projects from the beginning to the end
and convey that to our clients regularly.
To understand that every project has a soul, it involves the people that are involved with
that project and we've got to remember that.
After the first presentation, so we have our initial client meeting at a certain point,
we have to show them what we're thinking and we have to prove to them we were listening
and then when you see their face light up, that's the most rewarding part.
A great design source for getting better, that's who we want to be.
If we can come together as a team and work with our clients that they find such benefit
that they see good design and they share that with others, that's really rewarding.
And if we do that one building at a time, we really do transform community and streets
get better and parks get better and neighborhoods get better, not just because we renovated
a building but because we applied architecture to the project.
Community is sort of something that's going to develop regardless of whether or not you
bring design to it.
I think having an architect help your community develop gives a little bit more direction
and insight to things that would be overlooked otherwise.
All good projects actually begin with the client and so we've been very lucky with
our clientele, we've had clients who put a lot of trust in us to allow us to do what
all architects have the ability to do and that is to be creative.
I want to make our team attractive to unique clients who bring unique projects.
We appeal to that type of person who's got that type of project because that unique project
is in our wheelhouse and I think that's what I'm excited about.
This team here, that's our norm.
The great thing about Scott and Dean is they compliment each other so well.
That has this very technical, beautiful line weights all about filling the page and making
it look very good.
Where Dean has the experience in the field and he'll explain to you how it's put together.
So once you understand how it's going to be put together, how it's going to be built,
you're able to dimension, you're able to detail it in a way that then creates a good set for
the client.
Scott is really good about this part because he looks at somebody's business and he's
trying to figure out how architecture can improve their business.
Because he thinks that way and he implements it, he pushes their envelope.
Dean and I are both really excited about the future.
We've had nothing but steady growth the last few years.
So when you compare our firm status and our hope for the future along with what we see
Pensacola doing and becoming, we are really excited about working in a way that brands
are firm in the minds of this community as the design resource for making Pensacola better.
