So our first day in New York yesterday,
and the weather was horrible.
It was the worst I've seen.
We got a little shred in just down at the park
under that hat and bridge, which was pretty cool.
Got a little sweat on, and now we're heading over
to Brooklyn to hit another spot under a bridge
because it's still raining.
You know, it's just something going on all the time.
It pretty much never sleeps.
Walk out of wherever you are, and whatever you need,
like coffee, drinks, good food, everything's like
right outside your door or a couple of blocks away.
The second spot we skated was like a car park in Brooklyn,
pretty iconic spot.
There's been a few tricks going down there,
and there's been a lot of magazines and videos
and stuff like that.
Jack got a couple of tricks, I got a trick or two,
so it was a good little session.
Third spot we went to and final destination,
which was pretty good for being in the rain all day,
was House of Vans.
House of Vans is a facility in Brooklyn.
We're basically vans skateboarding.
They have a skate park in there.
They have art shows and concerts in there as well.
It's a pretty cool spot too.
Like the amount of good stuff that goes down in that place
is pretty amazing.
It was cool to have a little tread on that
before the week ahead of the Vans Bolarama
and skating Chelsea Pier skate park every day.
Vans Bolarama is the biggest bowl contest in the world.
Started in Bondi.
Basically, 40 of the world's best pro skateboarders
flying to there, and now they're flying here in New York City.
For it to pull that many heads from all around the world
just instantly gives the contest credibility.
One of the best things about Vans Bolarama, I think,
is the different, probably, locations around the world
that we go to and the different bowls as well,
because you get different type of skating
out of each skateboarder.
You know what I'm saying? Top it off.
Oh, yes. Awesome.
We've got the greatest skateboarders in the world
that I've looked up to in my whole life
and the best new ones in a contest on the weekend
just to, like, wrap it up.
Perfect.
