I've been competing since four years now and in the last years we kind of reached
a limit with our tricks that we do with the air tricks. We can add sometimes extra 180,
grab a bit longer, but we are still reaching kind of limit.
Now what I think is the future is doing tricks on waves, using them as a natural feature as a
kicker like you have in wakeboarding. There we can throw so many tricks that nobody even thought
about and like line Pete seven, Pete throw seven perhaps just because you can get that extra kick
that you cannot have while edging and doing the air trick. This is where I'm going to push this
board and where I hope love people will follow.
Most of the inspiration I have for tricks on waves come from wakeboarding. It's obvious
they've been doing it 20 years longer than we and they do way crazier stuff, but all of the stuff
that they do I'm pretty sure it's possible to do it with kiteboarding as well. We have natural waves
and they're way bigger than a than a wake behind a boat, so I think we can get our own kind of
group and a lot of respect from the wakeboarders if we start throwing off kickers at or two and a
half meters high like we had in China that it's just insane to land and that's what I want to show
people that can do the half caps and all that kind of stuff. Just nobody did it yet really.
It will find its own spot. Nowadays a lot of kiteboarders appreciate wakeboarding
and slowly a lot of wakeboarders appreciate more and more kiteboarding and see it as a real sport,
as something that can stand for its own and just hope it continues that way.
