It's so funny how I got into graphic design.
I was always the kid, you know, drawing in class.
I never intended on being a graphic designer.
There's just something about art that I enjoy, you know, just being able to express yourself
regardless of the canvas.
That's just something that really, really speaks to me.
I do a lot of outdoor activities.
When I'm not working, I'm usually doing something outdoors.
I'm driven by competition.
I think everybody that works here has a competitive spirit, and you can see that.
There's no blueprint or manual to what I do.
I just always put myself in their shoes, what would I want if I was still playing?
I think actions speak louder than words.
We can always get better.
We can always improve the way we do things, because we want to be the best.
We strive to be the best, not only on the field, but also with all the operational stuff
behind the scenes.
I like achieving.
I like solving complicated problems, and I really enjoy the challenging aspects of work.
You know, Jacksonville, it's my city.
You know, I'm born and raised here.
You hear a lot of people say it's a large city or a large town with a small town vibe,
and that's exactly what it is.
I've lived in Chicago, New York, San Diego, big cities, and I have all the best stuff.
Jacksonville is, to me, the biggest small town in America.
Huge, huge space in my heart for Jacksonville.
I moved from Georgia while I was living for four or five years, and to uproot my family
and to move them to Jacksonville.
There was a lot of apprehension.
We just thought about the beaches.
We didn't realize it was so close to the ocean.
So when I visited Jacksonville, I was encouraged to stay out at the beach, and that was the
absolute best advice that I got, because the beaches here are incredible.
They're a well-kept secret.
Being at the beach is always a reminder that you're just a very small part of something
much, much bigger.
The power of the ocean in front of you is something that you feel incredibly sort of
humbled walking next to.
It's such a testament for someone who's not from here, someone who's not a native to come
here and see the true potential that the city has.
This football team is organization is a true heartbeat.
The city comes to life on game day.
One of my most favorite things about working in the stadium is that we have the ability
to get up, walk away from our desks, and go sit next to two spas on the north end zone,
or go walk over to the south end zone and look at the river, and all of that's right
around our building.
Here it's, you know, it really is.
People talk about sports.
They talk about football, and they talk about, you know, how they can get ahead.
There is a strong competitive drive among the employees here.
Do you want to just sit there and behind a computer and move a mouse around?
I myself, I like to get out and roam, find the problems.
Game day, it's not uncommon to walk 10, 12 miles.
We all wear our company provided Fitbits.
I don't think I could work in another industry.
I like the whole 10 game structure.
You have to be organized, you have to focus on the details.
It's imperative to surround yourself with people who are going to elevate your potential
or elevate whatever you produce.
In anything that you do, you never want to be stacked in the course.
So the fact that we're always challenging each other, you know, it's good because it
does insight growth.
I think it starts at the top of ShotCon of being an unbelievable owner, and then Dave
Caldwell, Mark Lamping, to develop any team, to develop any business, to develop any organization.
You have to have those folks that want to stand out and not just be somebody in the back.
We're small enough that we all should be able to work together and know one another well.
And we're in a place where you can really see employees grow and develop and put their
fingerprint on the things that we're doing.
Whether that's on the field or off the field, as expected, video board technology that we
have, the other things that we've been doing to improve the fan experience, and now going
into the new lines of business with the amphitheater, I think that for us, it's all about improving
the quality of life in Jacksonville and making it a better place to live, and figure out
how the NFL team fits into that.
We work with some of the best people in the world when it comes to what we do.
You know, I feel like I'm working with one of the most creative owners in the NFL.
To be able to rub shoulders with some of the best of the best in the world, that's prices.
Where else can you work a football game and work a concert and get to solve the problems
that nobody else sees?
Sports for me sort of punctuates these moments in terms of it makes life more meaningful.
You remember things, your life's better because you've shared an experience with somebody
else and that experience matters.
If you're doing what you love, you know, you'll never work a day in your life.
I wake up every morning and I am excited to go to work and do what I enjoy doing.
My mom has always taught me to leave a situation better than you found it.
I just want to make Jacksonville when I leave here one day.
I can feel that I made an impact on the city of Jacksonville.
I think what we rally around is making Jacksonville a better place to live and making the Jaguars
as great of an organization as it can be.
