This thing's heavy, so I'll wait to say thanks, but anyway, on behalf of Hotel Fitness Western
Golf and the Fort Wayne community, I'd like to present you with the Hotel Fitness Championship
trophy as the winner of the Hotel Fitness Championship. Congratulations.
I don't want to forget the check, too, but they actually give you cash money, too, $180,000.
I think that might be spent pretty nicely on it. I understand that. Congratulations to
you, but I've got to ask your first professional win. You kind of look like you've got a sense
of relief on your face right about now. Am I reading that correctly?
Yeah, it was so much fun today. I've had some changes in the past, and obviously I haven't
got it done, but it was so much fun to be out on a Sunday afternoon hitting the ball
and making putts and competing to win. I've watched you for the last few years growing
up in this game, and I've seen you at the highs. You've had a fantastic career. Then
in the last couple of years, it hasn't been gone as well as you would have hoped for
or predicted. But winning this tournament, what are your expectations going to be going
forward next year on the PGA Tour as a full-time member?
It's great. I've known. I'm capable of winning, and expected that of myself. Like you said,
it hasn't. Not everything goes perfectly to plan, but I think I had a great attitude
coming into these four events, and I felt like I was playing well. I think it would
just give me confidence going into it next year, and hopefully try to win one out on the
big tour.
Well, there's no doubt in my mind that you're going to win a bunch more championships, especially
on the PGA Tour. I'm sure I say this for everybody, but we really hope we don't see
you back here again any time soon. But, bud Collie, congratulations once again to this
year's champion, folks.
You played great, bud. You played awesome. I can't really say anything. I mean, you
shot seven under today. You know, the conditions were perfect. It was definitely gettable,
and I played great. Honestly, I really did. I got off to a little shaky start. I was pretty
nervous. I'm starting out bogey in the first hole, but I played bogey. I made a double
on a bogey all week. I mean, I played great all week, and I'm really proud of the way
I played 18. I sucked it up and hit a really good iron shot in there, and I hit a good
butt. I mean, I might have folded a hair, but I kind of got tricked by watching Sam's,
but, you know, I hit a good butt. I mean, it's not like I went out and shot even far
or anything. I mean, I only can try to get it, and I hit a lot of really good shots coming
in. I'm pretty proud of it.
