Introducing the PDMovie Remote Air wireless follow focus system. This wireless
follow focus system is perfect when you have a setup on a jib or slider and
still need to be able to pull focus from a distance. This affordable follow focus
kit can adjust focus, zoom, or aperture from distances up to 300 feet. There are
two basic kits available the single channel single motor PD1 and the dual
channel two motor PD2 kit. Today we are looking at the PD2 kit. Inside the case
you'll notice the quality and thought put into this product. The motors, controller,
and receiver are machined from extruded aluminum and are neatly organized with
custom-cut foam and a neoprene pouch for the cables. The rod mounts fit 19
millimeter rods but with the included adapter sleeve it can also fit 15
millimeter rods. The motors included can be easily reversed for more
flexibility or to work with shorter lenses. The motors have sliding
adjustments for mating with the lens. The cables are professional 10 pin to 10
pin limo connectors for each motor. Motor two is for the high torque motor which
is for pulling focus or zoom on older cinema lenses or longer zoom lenses
while motor one is the standard motor. Cables are 29 inches long so you can
mount the receiver in different configurations on the rig. The power
cable is a pro 4 pin to D tap. To power the receiver and lens motors you will
need to plug the D tap to a pro battery or 12 volt power supply. The 32 pitch
gear will fit standard 0.8 geared cinema lenses like Canon, Rokinon or
Zeiss and because of the use of full duplex signal processing there's
instant reaction from the controller to the motor. The transmitter's operational
time is approximately 30 hours and is equipped with a rechargeable onboard
battery and included USB wall charger. Both PD kits have quarter inch 20
mounting points, foldable flexible antennas and simple easy access buttons.
The inner dial is for the second motor. This can be an additional standard
torque motor for the iris or zoom or high torque motor for stiff lenses. The
controller's main focus wheel is held with rare earth magnets and can be
removed for focus marking tape. After power up, push and hold the nerve button
to automatically map the lens. The motor will cycle to both hard stops and then
return to a middle position. Now you are ready to start marking your lens points.
It's also possible to manually map a lens that does not have hard stops. The
PD1 and PD2 kits feature 2.4G digital wireless with 20 channels, a range of
up to 300 feet, automatic lens calibration, map cine style lenses, maps lenses
without hard stops, sets manual AB stop, uses 32 pitch 0.8 metric gear, remaps
short throw lenses to the full range of focus style and can change motor
direction. The PDMovie Remote Air Wireless Follow Focus is a professional
tool that will bring sharp focus to your production shots. For more information
