I was with a mate, a friend from Brazil in London and he went back to Brazil and I decided
to continue to dub him.
I came here four months ago and my plan is to stay here for three years.
I work in Grafton Street so I go there maybe like twice a week.
I came to Ireland alone.
I hold a sign for a barbershop.
And outside holding the signpost, advertising, massage, facial, manicure, pedicure.
There are a lot of students there and they always come down to me and they talk to me
and I get to practice my English.
I work 12 to 4, sometimes it's boring but it's no problem, I use the music layer.
When I haven't recharged my battery, time moves very slow.
You kind of look at people passing by all day.
I talk with a lot of people, street performers, the guys who work in the shops, sellers.
You occupy your mind with a lot of stuff.
I study at Dublin Business School.
I have one elder brother, he is 27.
The good thing is that two months ago I got a new nephew and his name is Veehan.
I do have family back in Brazil, I do miss them but you get used to it.
After a while you just crack on and you enjoy the best of the city.
When I talked to my mum today, she was like, I thought you were next door, you're still
outside there, the way you're talking, I'm like, mum, no, I'm somewhere far away.
She misses me every second and I'm like, I miss you too.
I'm grown up now, I just can't come back there and lay in your arms again like a little kid.
When you're holding a signpost, girls don't look at you at all.
It's not that you're a doctor or a lawyer, it's not really attractive, they're just
holding a stick.
But one day this girl, she stood beside me and she was looking at me and I thought, what
does this girl want?
She wants information or something and then she asks me, can I stay here with you for
a while?
Do you mind?
And I, what, of course you can stay here.
She stayed there chatting to me from half two to seven o'clock.
I thought it was a prank, I was like looking around to see cameras, it has to be a prank.
So I finished work at seven, put the sign away, I came back down, she was waiting for
me.
I went around the city like talking and she was like Irish blonde girl, very pretty, gorgeous.
I kissed her and it was amazing and yeah, but she didn't give me a phone number or anything.
She came into my life and she just like disappeared.
I was holding a sign, so I would never expect that a beautiful girl comes up to you, talks
to you for five hours, kisses you and just goes away and you'll never see her again.
And you're just going to think about that all your life.
Some younger people, they create the problems, like they kick the my sign, you know.
Sometimes they like turn over the my sign, sometimes they kick the signs, you know.
Some people is very politely and nicely, they say if you want any help or a couple of check-in,
I say no, no thanks.
I really support my younger sister because she's the only person I love the most.
So every little I get, I try to send her something so she can buy herself everything she can.
One thing about girls is you never know what they want to get, so you try as much as possible
to direct them in a good way.
The weather in Ireland is, I don't know, it's horrible.
Every day after wear a jacket or something on top.
It's winter now and it's freezing out there, so standing outside is not a good thing.
You have to wrap up so well that you can't really move, seriously.
I have like six layers on me, like four jackets.
Because it's very cold, it's rainy, rainy most of the time.
You can't see my face, it's like just my eyes.
Yeah, I like the Ireland weather.
As compared to India, Ireland weather is good because Ireland weather is always cool and
India is so hot.
This is a moment of my life being here in Dublin.
I would call it a moment and it's definitely defining.
My name is Euston Mathias Piri, I'm 25 years old.
I am from Malawi.
My name is Sandeep Patel, I am from India.
My name is Philippe and I am Brazilian.
I am really happy holding a sign.
