Today I'm actually taking the boat bus from DC all the way to New York City.
It's only $20 and it looks like right now I'm somewhere in New Jersey, along the New
Jersey Turnpike.
As you can see the boat bus behind me, it's not too glamorous, it does have Wi-Fi though
and it also has electricity, which is nice, but it's pretty sticky as you can see from
my face.
It's been a warm ride, it's 97 degrees.
It looks like we have another hour and a half or so until we get to New York City where
I will check into my hotel once I find it and probably take a shower.
So, I made it, now I'm walking in Soho right now, but I made it on the bus, the boat bus,
all the way to New York from DC.
I would probably have to describe the boat bus as long, hot and sticky, but it is 90
something degrees out, so I give it the benefit of the doubt.
So if you do take it, you might want to take lots of water, lots of snacks, there's a bathroom
on board, I didn't happen to use it, but the ventilation in general is blast in air, but
it was 900% frigid, so I'm in shorts and I'm sweating my butt off pretty much, so that's
the gist of it from Simifrank.com.
I'm actually at Bright downtown New York City, the boat bus, we're going to get on here
shortly.
My trip here wasn't too bad, it was a little hot, but it was a hot day, so I'm hoping on
the way back, it isn't too bad, and I get back tonight late, so I actually got a pretty
decent seat.
I got here early.
I think it's important to get there a little bit early, and that's one of the tips that
I would recommend if you're riding a boat bus, is to arrive at least a half hour before
you're supposed to depart, and I got a pretty decent seat, as you can see it has power, and
no one next to me yet.
But we're in New York City here, shortly we'll be taking off for DC.
I think the second tip is to probably bring food, bring food water, and get kind of hot,
and bring a whole thing of water and a sandwich.
It's about a four and a half hour drive back to DC, so you're going to want to bring something
to eat along the way.
We stopped last time on the way here, but we might not stop on the way back, so that
would be my second suggestion.
But you might want to wear probably some cooler clothing, because it can heat up.
There's a couple of vents up there.
They weren't working as well on the way here, so we'll see if they do on the way back.
But that would be my third tip on riding the boat bus from DC to New York, from New York
to DC.
Back in DC on the boat bus, we made it.
This time it actually wasn't bad at all, so I didn't just key that you get a good seat,
get there early, bring lots of drinks, and bring all your goodies, because you pretty
much plug me in and use Wi-Fi the entire time.
It didn't go down this time, it was up the entire time, and it worked for about four
hours.
So, give both bus.com a try.
