It's one of the most amazing events that's happened this year, celebrating 30 years of
the Ripper.
It's great to see other people get really creative, all these artists collaborating
together and doing their own rendition, you know.
And here we are honoring Court Johnson and the Ripper.
Alright, this is the Ripper show.
I want you to join me inside.
Let's walk through Jim Knight's art piece.
We've got about 58 amazing pieces of art that all represent the Ripper and what the Ripper
means to each artist.
This is really a tribute to Court Johnson who created the Ripper in the first place.
It sort of brings the Ripper from 25 years ago up to present.
What do you guys think of this exhibit?
Oh, it's insane.
It's really good.
I don't know who did it, but this one right here.
That one was amazing.
It's called the Ripper like every other one, but it's Kevin Marburg.
It's over there.
What do you guys think?
Any favorite picks?
The Roper.
I got to like the Roper.
The original is cool.
The boobs one is cool.
It's like a bunch of cool ones.
They're all good pieces, man.
It's a nice work here.
You get involved in the show with all these people that have been legends in skateboarding
for years.
In this piece, everyone recognizes it.
Everyone's seen this one.
Which was an iconic graphic that was burned into my mind along with a lot of other policy
graphics when I was a kid.
This is all aerosol and it's all freehand.
Ray Underhill is a good friend of mine to see his piece in there with really inspiration.
It's good to see the old school stuff out there.
I love it.
Let me show you an example.
It's pretty realistic of a Ripper.
This is done by Steve Caballero.
Steve put a lot of love into this piece.
Tanner Goldbeck used to be one of the artists in our company in Newport and he respected
him.
Yeah, basically he was the reason why I started drawing skulls.
I was almost 40 years old and I still do it, so it's good.
I think of perhaps of all the pieces here, this one best captures Port and his essence
and the sense of drama and humor and whimsy.
We've got 25 years of love and meaning expressed in all of these art pieces.
Yeah, it was unbelievable.
It's great to go back to my youth and see a lot of the old pal stuff.
It was fantastic.
I really enjoyed it.
Thank you.
