Hi, my name is David Wei, I'm one of the collective members here at the Broadway Bicycle School.
The Broadway Bicycle School is, it's a bike shop, it's a regular bike shop, we do sales,
we do service, sell bikes, sell parts, we do all levels of mechanical service on bicycles,
but the school part comes in, we do classes at night, after the shop closes, we do classes
on basic bicycle mechanics, on advanced bicycle mechanics, on the wheel building as well.
Well the shop has been around since 1972, it's our 40th year, and it was started by like
five guys back then who were just like not happy, a couple of them worked in the bike
industry, weren't happy with what they were seeing there, and they want to do something
different.
My favorite thing to do while I'm here is probably helping customers follow shortly
by working on bikes, follow quickly by working on bikes, it's, yeah, it's night, I love,
I like talking to people, I like helping them figure out their problems, solving their problems,
unless they're too complicated, then I don't want to do anything, but.
People think that I work in a bike shop, that you have an image of in your mind of what
a bike shop, you know like my mom, I know she has an image of what a bike shop looks
like, and I know it's not this, you know, this is a lot different because it's all,
you know, it's about more than just servicing bikes, more than just selling bikes, it's
about taking the information that I have, the information that other people here have
and giving it back to the community, you know, so it's like, it's more of, you know, in addition
to being a shop, it's a community resource, you know, so I'm giving something back to
the community in the form of, you know, our knowledge about bikes.
