Hi everybody, this is Mayor Bill Fulton. I'm down here at the summer fest at the school district headquarters.
This is a terrific event, celebrating physical fitness, and there's nothing more important for the well-being of our community than for all of us to be fit.
Obesity is a huge problem in our society. Diabetes, asthma, and physical fitness can help overcome those things.
I just finished the 5K run with KTVA radio personality Tom Spence. We tied, but everybody's down here today with all these physical activities.
The city is very proud to be a sponsor of summer fest, and we hope that you enjoy it here at summer fest and that you enjoy physical fitness all summer long. Thanks.
Hi, I'm Trudy Tettleryaga, and I'm a really proud superintendent of Ventura Unified School District here at summer fest 2011.
The sixth annual summer fest is really the best yet. It is just amazing to see the number of families and children who are really enjoying summer fest today.
The various activities are wonderful vendors who are here to help us just really kick off a healthy summer and really support our vision that all children are in a safe and healthy environment.
So we're thrilled to be the host of summer fest 2011, and it's absolutely the best year yet.
Here we are at summer fest 2011, the sixth annual rendition of this event.
Last year, summer fest was chosen by the state of California, the governor's council on physical fitness as event of the year.
Throughout this state, summer fest is the best example of an event that supports and promotes physical exercise in our schools and in our community.
So this year, we're here today again with more people than ever, more booths than ever. It's just a wonderful day out here.
Thank you for watching.
