I'm Jeff Quinn, founder of the Quinn Family Charitable Fund.
This year, many of you joined me to participate in the first annual St. Louis Rock and Roll
Marathon to benefit tasks, team activities for special kids.
As we were doing the race last year, we all knew that it was for a good cost to help tasks
acquire a new facility in St. Louis County.
I'd like to show you now the results of your hard work and your dedication last year.
This beautiful new facility located in Benton, Missouri, the home of team activities for
special kids.
Everybody wants to be a part of a team, wants to have friends, wants to be social, wants
to receive a high-five when they do something well, and our kids were not always given the
opportunity to play or even to get out on the field.
Tasks goes ahead and modifies every sport that we offer, whether we have to use a hockey
stick to play soccer because we're in a wheelchair, whether we have to use a running rope to run
to first base, we'll try to modify it so that your child is successful and has fun.
At Tasks, no child is turned away because of their disability or their inability to pay.
Tasks has provided team-based social and recreational activities to thousands of special needs kids
in St. Louis County.
However, Tasks had to provide those services through a hodge pod series of facilities, renaming
gymnasiums here, soccer fields here, t-ball and baseball fields in another location.
I cannot tell you what a dream come true it is to have our own home, it's going to be
so nice.
Acquiring this beautiful facility was phase one.
What needs to happen now in phase two is to take this beautiful campus and convert it
to its intended use.
The front lawn here will become a soccer field.
The side field over here will be baseball fields, a putting green and a playground.
The hall will be made into two gym floors and a dance and drama studio.
How can you help?
Very simple.
Sign up to join the task force and run and participate in this year's St. Louis Rock and
Roll Marathon and Half Marathon.
So here's how it works.
If you want to join the task force, go online to tasksports.org slash rock and roll to sign
up for our charity racing team.
When you sign up to become a member of the task force, you'll receive some very special
benefits including exclusive weekend events, task force team VIP tent, fundraising tools
and a complimentary entry fee for the marathon or half marathon.
And we even have a coach, Leanne Levy, who will be creating the training plans just for
you to make your training a success.
As a father of a special needs child, I've too often seen a situation where special needs
kids are put on the sidelines.
They're not allowed to participate because it's not easy or convenient or even comfortable.
But now with task having its own facility, we can offer programs dedicated to making
them feel as part of the team.
What can you do?
Join our team.
Go to tasksports.org slash rock and roll.
I cannot even imagine where tasks would be without the runners that ran in the rock and
roll marathon, all of the time, the sweat and the hard work that they put in to give
our kids a place to call home, a place to play, a place to be accepted.
Thank you guys and we love you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
Thank you for your participation.
I'll see you at the finish line on October 21st.
