Welcome back. It's a mill car. I felt in part two. It was key to begin with one of my greatest
inspirations in life and for my music. That is revolutionaries. One of the biggest inspirations
in my life and that's the chairman Fred Hampton. We're here right now at a historic site. You know
what I mean? 2337 Westwood Monroe which is basically you know 40 years, 41 years of history right
here in this area. You know this is where chairman Fred Hampton of the Illinois chapter of the Black
Panther Party was assassinated. You know so but those that don't know chairman Fred Hampton's
history was actually raised in Maywood, grew up in Maywood, went to Proviso East High School,
went to Triton College and then from there he joined the NAACP. He was a youth organizer
so he rose from being a youth organizer with the NAACP to basically joining the Black Panther
Party. He quickly rose to becoming a leader for the whole Illinois chapter of the Black Panther
Party. Now during this time he put together a truce of the Black Stones in Chicago and other
gangs at the time which was like the first time someone had done something like that where he
brought together the gangs and then next his next basically mission was going to be to bring the
Black Panthers together with the gangs and make one big coalition which if that would have happened
you know could have basically changed you know that could have changed history for Black people
you know in America period.
No educational background, how you tried to college route really went for you. I just want
you to explain the importance of educating oneself and how powerful that can be. Oh man I mean
information is power you know first of all I think you know one of the main reasons why a lot
of people don't become successful in life or you know just get to their fullest potential is one
not enough education, two laziness and three fear you know I mean so it's like you definitely got
to have education in anything you know that you're basically you want to make a profession.
We were just talking earlier about the hustle of you know back back when you probably first
started getting into the game and the hustle versus now can you explain the similarities
differences between now and how the music industry is today? I mean I started I started
getting my name out you know through mix tapes you know and physical mix tapes not mix tapes
online you know actually me and Sean Mack yeah me and Sean Mack my DJ you know started right
here in Chicago you know on the north side we started just physically printing up the covers
getting them printed duplicating our own CDs basically going to the studio putting our CDs
together basically and then putting them out to the streets you know whether it was giving
them out at the clubs or at clothing stores you know picnics parties events or whether it was
selling them you know on cornice or selling them through stores you know we we got our name out
right you know so that's how you know I think majority of the people that know me in Chicago
they probably know me from a mix tape that they either got by hand or they got you know they
heard from word of mouth you know so I think that's very pivotal and important for artists even these
new artists to know that that you know to know that grind there because it's totally different
from the online grind you know it's totally different like you sacrifice more when when the
mill cars book of life is written done sat in stone what I mean what do you want your legacy to be
what do you want people to remember about you um I mean going back to being a revolutionary I just
want to you know inspire you know I want I want someone even you know I want I'm first I want to
leave a legacy you know I want to pick up off of pox legacy pick up off of you know pick up off of
people like public enemy pick up off their legacy you know I mean you know people like even nice
you know I mean and I basically want to leave my legacy you know basically because I feel they
they've passed the baton to the new you know the leaders in the new school and I just want to be
known as okay he was a leader of this new school he inspired you know and I definitely want to
change lives you know I definitely want to change lives I want there to at least be you know one
if not a million you know kids out there that feel that they're living differently after they heard
my music or they feel they're not alone you know they feel like they're not alone after they heard
my music you know so that's that's the most important thing to me I mean you know it'd be nice
being rich you know sitting out on a yacht with a with an R&B chick you know it'd be nice you know
and the kids you know the young the young cars and the car rats you know man that would be nice but
my first goal is really to inspire you know maybe one person but really the masses really inspire a
whole culture you know I mean starting starting with my own you know so that's that's the biggest
goal is to inspire and make a change you know make a revolutionary change in the black community
inspiration and change that's the that's what that's what a meal cost book is going to be about
inspiration change being revolutionary the right way
