Oduwch, traders
When I was working for young as a working brewery it was an incredible place, it was a very busy bustling environment, there were over 330 people working here.
And, apart from the brewers and the people working in the offices,
we had all sorts of craftsmen and tradesmen here.
We had carpenter for the bağrs, we had tools, we had electricians wandering.
We had the stables, apart from the horses, we had all sorts of animals.
We had hens, geese, goats, donkeys.
Even peacocks, when I first came here.
And, of course, a buttsit horned ram, the company mascot.
When young's finally stopped brewing, a lot of people in Wandsworth, myself included, were quite distraught at the idea of Britain's longest continually brewing location stopping that we started to make plans.

One of the key issues we've tried to address is how to draw out the character of the existing buildings to ensure that our scheme has a character that relates to the historic fabric of the site.
The listed buildings on this site are incredibly important to us, not just because they're listed and we've got to restore them, but to have these old buildings forming an integral part of the scheme
is highly valuable. They provide a signature to the development. You couldn't recreate these even if you wanted to in terms of new buildings.
So whilst the space might be quite quirky in them, it'll be interesting space and we already know we have a number of restaurant and retail occupiers that want to take them.
Youngs who clearly own the site before are particularly keen to come back in and take a couple of restaurant oppas and as you'll see behind me, we have these original coppers which date back many hundreds of years which were original brewing vessels
and the intention is, is with these old buildings, we will be integrating in a new heritage centre which these will form part of. We also have some beam engines on the ground floor which will be incorporated into that.
We're going to put a micro brewery back into the scheme so that we can keep the brewing tradition going on this site which has been running for the nearly 500 years and which our on-site master brewer has kept running during the period that the scheme hasn't been developed and since youngs moved out.
The stables building will be restored so it can be turned into a new restaurant, retail space and shop, somewhere where you can really feel the original history of the building.
We've also created a new space next to the river. This has been opened up to provide a key route through the site but also as a destination in its own right, a place for restaurants, for cafes next to a new enhanced river edge.
At the northern end of this space is our new feature building, the tower. This provides a focus and a marker at the northern end of the town, at the confluence of the two main routes across the site.
These main spaces are linked together with a variety of paths that link into the wider town network of paths and roads, creating a really integrated pedestrian experience throughout the town centre.
Wontworth is a location that is quite diverse in the types of people that are living here but what we intend to provide on the site is something which complements what's already here.
You're already seeing Southside having been improved with a good quality retail offer which is typical of many retail shopping centres but what we're intending to do here is providing something which is perhaps the next notch up from the standard
retailing but there will be other things here as well so we've got some office accommodation on so there will be office workers here, there will be the opportunity to have farmers markets on site, there will be the opportunity for smaller businesses to come on site.
We see little art studios, small business units being created on site so there will be something for everybody and importantly the ground floor areas are open 24 hours so it's not creating a closed environment.
We have lots of pedestrian access points into the scheme.
