Post Lies at Nalls Produce this week, welcome, I'm Valerie Nalls.
Hey, come on and see me at Nalls Produce and Garden Center, where this is the last week
of the year that we're open.
We take a break from Christmas through, I believe it's the fourth, whatever that first Friday
is in January, and then we'll be open for the winter, which is really exciting because
we used to always close, so I'm very, very proud to say we will be open for January
and February and we really hope to see you there.
Many churches will have special Christmas Eve services and evening candlelight services.
Already Silverbrook United Methodist Church has announced their candlelight worship service
at 7 p.m.
Morning worship is at 10 a.m.
Silverbrook is located at 8616 Silverbrook Road in Lorten.
Call 703-690-4159 or browse Silverbrook-umc.org.
The changing of the old year to the new year will come with a flurry of activity.
Shiloh Baptist Church will hold a watch night service with dinner served from 8 to 9 p.m.,
and the actual worship service will start at 10 p.m., but there is no Sunday morning
service.
Call 703-550-8557 or browse ShilohLorten.org.
On January 1st, join the Friends of Mason-Xtate Park for first day hikes.
This is a great way to start the year and maybe see the swans.
Browse Mason-XtateParkFriends.org.
And I'm Floyd Harrison, your publisher in the studio with a couple of additional stories.
The Friends of Mason-Xtate Park was given the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Virginia
Department of Conservation and Recreation State Parks.
The Friends contribute to park planning and teach kids encouraging environmental stewardship.
They hosted the Owl Moon event, Park After Dark, and they thanked volunteers of all sorts
with water, coffee, snacks, and whatever else is needed.
Being a year-end tax-deductible donation would help.
Visit www.mason-xtateparkfriends.org slash join to make a contribution.
Giant Food, Lorten Valley, will host nutrition tours and support discovering good-for-you
options.
Each tour will meet in produce to begin.
The first topic, Eat Well for Weight Loss, will be Wednesday, January 3rd at noon and
5 p.m.
Post Light is taking a year and break.
Join Post Light January 7th when we resume our regular schedule.
Happy New Year!
