Hi, I'm Jason Bodek with That Studio, and welcome to another overview of That Studio's effects.
I'm really excited to introduce you to our newest package, Audio Ambience.
It's a variety of royalty-free background music for use in your film or television productions,
and they're intended to move along your story, whether you're an expert or a novice in music.
Now, let's take a look at the package here.
So, as you can see over here, I have a huge variety from some action
to some comedy
to some drama
I mean, these are just adding production value. I can find tons of uses for these.
Horror, these are personally my favorite. Let's try a rumbley piano.
We get some sci-fi, some suspense. We get a huge variety, and most importantly, we provide all the stems.
And if you're not familiar with stems, what stems are is they break down all the songs.
So you have your bass, your piano, your drums, your guitar, all the different elements of the sound
so you can completely build up the track on your own and customize it for your film or television or short.
And that way you can customize a song and have it hit the beats exactly where you want it to.
So really quickly, even without using stems, I'm going to show you a quick example of how we can use this
to add a little bit of value to a quick short that was very nicely provided to us by the nice folks at Colorist Flight School.
We'd like to thank them. This is the Short Mother Died. If you're familiar with it, it's a available online on YouTube.
If you haven't seen it, definitely go see it. This isn't giving anything away, but if you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth the look.
And let's jump right in. So anyways, I'm going to show you the scene we'll be working on. It's right from the beginning.
And I've been to the background track because I specifically want us to work on music.
Now I'm going to stop it right there. Now there's a lot of reason that she can be doing that, and I don't want to give it away.
But let's try and make up our own reasons right now and throw it in there with music.
So I've already imported all of these right into Premiere, and these are all simple WAV files.
So they're going to work in any nonlinear editor in any audio editor, so Pro Tools, Edition.
Let's go ahead and throw in Toy Piano and see how this sounds.
And again, I'm using the pre-assembled version instead of actually using the stems.
If I were to use the stems, I could actually customize this to really hit the exact points where I wanted it to.
And I'm just showing you the absolute basics of what these can do.
So let's take a look at how much better this is with just the added track in there.
Now for this piece, I'd actually probably cut that off right where we see her chop down is a good point in changing music.
But that's just one example and it sort of gives an ominous feel to that scene.
But let's try another example.
Now if anybody's worked with audio before, you know that the more that you sort of nudge these around and try and really nail where they hit with a video, the better it feels.
And I'm really just sort of dropping these in here.
So the fact that they are working at all is fairly surprising.
I'm just trying to make it fit in there just a little bit.
This one's obviously going to be a little bit loud too.
Let's see what it sounds like.
I've dropped an entirely different track in there.
Okay, so we have a mild problem right there.
As you can see, the music is a touch late.
So let's see if we can fix that.
So as you can see, just using two simple preassembled clips, we were able to imply two completely separate vibes for this scene.
And that's not even using the real power of this package, which is really in the stems, which is where you can customize and really build your own custom mix for your film or television production.
I hope you've enjoyed this overview of that Studio FX audio ambience package, and definitely check it out if you're looking to really spice up your production.
I hope you've enjoyed and I will see you in the next video.
