My name is Olivia, and I'm Barack Obama, and I approve this message.
All right, I did it right.
My name is Olivia.
My name is Odinsky, and this is our story.
Well, we knew each other in high school.
We both attended the same high school, ironically.
Miami, New Orleans, senior high school.
And this one was not checking for me at all.
He did not want to know that I existed except for the fact that I sold just in juice
and wanted her hot fries in Spanish class.
I did not like him.
Why was he so nosy?
And why was he so nosy?
Yeah.
When I first met Olivia, just another classmate, no interest whatsoever.
Nothing, just...
Honestly, it might have just been another person I could try to sell a lot of different things to.
His nose.
Get a really big nose.
Her teeth.
And his gym bag, the frowsy gym bag.
It just did not smell good, because in high school, he sold chips and juice.
And every time I go over there to get a juice or a chip, it just smells like feet.
So I had to send one of my friends over with my dollar to go get, because it just smells so bad.
Oh, gosh.
I was sending out basically a mass text message that you normally do to all your friends,
just, you know, once a year, just trying to pretend like you wanted to keep in touch.
And she actually responded to the text.
She was coming down for one of the breaks.
I don't remember if it was spring break or summer break.
And I informed her that I was working at Foot Locker at the time, so of course, in her eyes, she saw shoes.
When I separated as friends, and then again, he sent out the mass text message.
I responded, came down for some shoes.
Didn't really think anything of it, just bought my ton of shoes.
Love shoes at the time, so I came back every so often whenever I come home, come down to Foot Locker, buy some shoes.
Then, 2008, I think we started to hang out more.
Like, when I come down to Miami, we maybe go see a movie or get something to eat.
Still, nothing didn't really think of anything.
Finally, now May 3rd, 2009.
The week before I went to Ghana, for some reason, I noticed something was different.
I couldn't really figure out what it was, but it was like, I'm actually starting to think more about him than I probably would have wanted to.
So, I remember it was May 3rd.
He'd finally asked me, will you be my girlfriend?
And so I finally decided to say yes.
Went away to Africa for two weeks, thought about it, and I called him.
And then from then on, I kind of felt like this was actually the right person for me.
The very first time was sometime in high school where I was basically wondering and trying to think of,
you know, you're in that stage, you're just basically everybody's a potential person that you could hang out with.
And Olivia was just different from all the other girls.
And I always wanted to be different until I liked the fact that she wasn't like the rest of that.
Basically, she barely talked to anyone, kept herself from everyone.
So, didn't like it, but at the same time liked it.
So, it was more of, and honestly, it was basically, we both have big lips.
So, I was like, okay, I have big lips, she has big lips, maybe that could work.
What the intention was for the proposal was I hid the ring in her jewelry box.
She already knew what ring it was.
She kind of already saw the design, but she didn't know that I purchased it.
She didn't even know that I had gone back to the store and ordered the rings, put it in her jewelry box.
And I intended that one day when she was going to put on one of her, as a costume jewelry,
that she was just going to put it on, not thinking it was the wedding ring.
She was already going to have the ring on and then grab her hand and propose to her.
But two weeks went by, ring never got put on no matter how many times we went out.
So, when I went back in to actually try to pick up the ring and take it back with me to plan something else,
as when she saw the ring in my pocket, she jumped on me, took the ring out of my pocket,
and then basically kind of got the proposal out of me.
So, it was a little unplanned, but that's why we're here now.
He's just different, and then a good different, because like at our age, there's not a lot of people that
first are serious about their relationship with God, and then also want to, you know,
was at a time doing well in school, he was studying accounting, actually working, trying to save money.
He wasn't just about things that regular guys nowadays were just like, want to be a womanizer,
just want to do whatever, he actually, you know, had his head on right.
And I think that kind of made him the most attractive.
I would say her devotion to God, as simple as that is, is basically for many of the girls I've dated,
that's always been the missing element, and that was the element present in Olivia and not anyone else.
There's this one thing, you know, his little finger, he always grows this one out long,
so that he can either like pick his nose or his ears.
He's going to kill me when everybody sees this.
Caring so much about what other people say, giving the masses or giving the world more credit for every decision than necessary.
Okay, his favorite food is, I'm going to say chocolate, but he likes rice and chicken,
but I think I should stick with the chocolate.
Chocolate.
Right now it's a kale salad, probably what she would say.
I like avocados.
He'll probably say kale salad, but I like avocados.
Red and black.
It really depends, sometimes like black and green, sometimes like black and red.
I would honestly have to say probably black and red are the highest.
Her favorite color is purple.
Purple.
Me.
Olivia.
Yeah, because I'll be the one who let them climb the tree and let them fall off the bike and hurt themselves,
and she'll be the one that, why are you doing that?
No, you can't do that.
No.
And I'll be the one that's more of, well, that's what your mom said.
This is when you get in trouble.
The city is a by the night.
This can really be a good life.
A good, good life.
Yeah.
A good life.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
A good life.
Hopelessly I feel like there might be something that ominous
Hopelessly I feel like the window closes so so quick
Hopelessly I'm taking a mental picture of you now
Cause hopelessly the hopeless we have so much to feel good about
Oh this has got to be good life this has got to be good life this can really be good life good life
This ain't over this feeling that you can't find the city
I'm excited cause I feel like we're getting started on a very exciting ride
I think there's a lot of great things there for us we just have to kind of keep God first
I just want us to just grow together have like 50, 60 years together in just
Just enjoy
Future wish would be that other people are blessed by our marriage
Friends, family members, even people that we don't know
Can look to ours as an example or just whatever the case is that others are blessed by it
That other people benefit from the fact that we decided to get married
You
