How do you focus on your work?
Well, you can't really do anything about tension.
The only thing that I can do is to still concentrate on my own work
and still make good photos that I still strongly believe in.
And, well, the good thing is that my work has never been really that kind expensive.
It's still very affordable, so people can still buy it
without having an extra mortgage on their aisle.
So that's a good thing.
And, you know, on the other hand, it's also that as an artist yourself,
if you are staying at home and make your work and you would constantly think,
my work won't sell, it's like devastating, killing.
So I don't think about it.
Of course, I wake up with a radio and it says about all these bankers and this stuff,
but I don't really actually want to be focused on it.
It gets so much attention anyway.
What I try is to focus on my work.
And sometimes the good thing is that I can still make a living.
And maybe it's not so the head that they sell more than maybe a while ago,
that it can change.
But on the other hand, there is still a flow going with my work.
So I'm not really in distress yet.
And sometimes I do for good clients and so make photos of their children.
And that's sometimes interesting too, so that you have extra money.
And I'm also working on something else.
I've been asked in the world for many times to give masterclasses.
And I'm trying to organize one myself.
So I want to invite other good talkers like Six or Seven and then invite them
and do what they always do with me.
So I want to give my own workshops on my own, how do you say it,
on my own conditions and so on.
So maybe that could be an interesting market to explore.
But for the rest, I think it's basically more important to focus on your work
and do the things you really want.
If you are constantly thinking about the crisis or something,
what can you do?
I mean, I can't do ceramics now.
So there is no really another option.
I have to go on anyway.
I don't Twitter what I've eaten yesterday or tomorrow.
I keep it very simple about facts that are going on in my work
or that I have a presentation this afternoon or that kind of thing
so that people know where to follow.
The good thing is that many people, you can reach many people
and everything is very visionable and so on.
So I think it's a good thing that social media,
but it doesn't make a living out of it.
Since this year, my husband and I have our diploma.
We are a beekeeper now, so we are going to sell honey.
So next year, Helen van Mena, honey.
