Through pain, you know, art is born.
We're going through this, like, pain of not existing, of not being, you know, being counted
as fellow Americans.
I have my marker, I have paper, and I have this gift that God gave me.
I'm telling this story because I exist.
A lot of people have this idea of undocumented immigrants, you know, she's running across
the border.
I was privileged enough back in my country where my dad had a good job, my mom had a
good job, and so we're able to, you know, stand in that line that other people talk about.
We came here legally.
Once we were in this country, my sister got really sick.
You know, my sister was going through treatment and so we couldn't leave.
I became just another undocumented immigrant.
Only enough, the Dream Act has been out there for almost the same amount that I've been
in college.
I think the Dream Act, it's sort of like our ticket to existence.
Well, today is a really, really exciting day for me because after nine years of hard work,
sleepless nights, more hard work, I get to pick up my diploma today and it's almost
surreal, it's like, I've been working for this for a long time and it's finally here,
you know, and it's a very, very sweet moment, you know, it's great.
My question now begins, where do I go from here?
Congratulations.
Thank you.
Going to school means trying to educate yourself to make this world better for future generations.
It was really tough for me, but then at the end, you know, right today when I went to
go pick up my diploma, I was like, this nine years were worth it.
This nine years were fighting for the Dream Act.
You know, being involved, they were worth it.
I was helped in the past, so I'm going to help the person that's coming behind me.
Signs of Dream, which I think could like blow up a while.
Yeah, we need to put it on that.
What is it?
Reddit?
Yeah, number four, Chan, it's like, it's a message for it.
In a lot of the videos that we posted, there was like, people use really harsh words whenever
they are, you know, describing, you know, like, saying their anti-immigrant sentiments.
And you know, a lot of this like really harsh words.
Those feelings are out there.
And so we're trying to do with this video, it's sort of like, it's a sort of like replying
back and kind of saying, why?
There's another whole group of people who are trying to do something with their lives,
despite that challenge of being undocumented immigrant.
So I want to tell that story because I was one of those stories.
Whenever we were talking to journalists, only our first name, whenever our picture was going
to be taken, only our shadow was going to be taken.
We were in the shadows.
Our names, our faces were not being seen.
And that was taking away power from us.
For me, you know, it became about existing and saying, I'm telling this story because
I exist.
And I guess my hope for the future is that we learn from history, that we learn that
history has a different struggle, we're all the same, we're all human beings.
Thank you, I just got it, this is my name and everything.
How was it going to happen this year?
You
