All right. Hello, hello, hello. You're listening to Hammond Cast right now on KYOU. John Hammond at
the microphone and at the organ with the group as well. The thing we did in
Frankfurt, Germany in the studios of American Forces Network radio. Yeah.
So this tune is Headphone. And I got my headphones on now right now. My favorite
Sennheiser headphones. And right about now I'd like to feature a real good friend
who came from Budapest, Hungary. He's one of the hottest tenor saxophone players in
all of Europe. And he lives in Germany now. And he's a member of the passenger
Rundfunk big band. Here he is now. Tony Lakatos on the tenor saxophone. My man Tony.
You're funky. Yeah.
You're funky.
You're funky.
Yeah. Tony Lakatos. He's got his own band too. And he plays very often at a club that
we like to play at in Frankfurt called the Jazz Killer. And the cat who owns and
runs the club, Oiken, he's a very funny cat. He speaks English. But in a kind of
Berlin kind of way. So the last time I was there, I was a guest at Tony and I was
enjoying the band. And I went over to Oiken. He was taking the cash at the
front door. I said, Oiken, the cats are blowing smoke on the bandstand. And he
said, oh my God, the air cleaner and the air cleaner. I have to turn up the air
cleaner. And he went running through the club. And I went running after. I said,
no, Oiken, you misunderstood me, man. I was just talking a little bit of slang
there. But one thing when you go to the Jazz Killer, you know, Oiken's got a good
air cleaner. Yeah, yeah. Give the organ player some. I'm playing the bass at the
same time. One less mouth to feet. And I'm getting ready to fly to San Francisco,
ladies and gentlemen. First thing in the morning on United Airlines. So we can
play at San Francisco County Jail and Laguna Honda Hospital for the holidays.
I'm looking forward to that because it's cold back here in New York. Yeah.
That screamin' Andre's Neubauer on the drums from Frankfurt, Germany.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. That was Army Specialist Nicky Kears shotin' out in the background.
And we want to thank Nicky, Specialist Nicky, for having us on the radio at
AFN Europe at the headquarters in Germany.
And now, I'm going to feature our good friend Joe Berger, the Berger master,
playing this little slow blues, little rainy day slow blues that we cut with
our friend Ray Grappone on the drums and myself on the organ playing the bass.
You know Joe Berger's got the blues, everybody.
Put the hamburger down for you. This is the Hammond Cast Show on KYOU Radio.
I'm John Hammond at the microphone. I'm an organ player, accordion player,
and member of the Musicians Union Local 6 in San Francisco and a dual member
of Local 802 New York City. Support your union workers, everybody.

I'm going to back it down and let you listen to Joe Berger get down for you on the guitar.
