27 years ago, and month of June, much to a very, very pretty day like this, I married
Maggie's mother in-law, and I know what you're thinking, and so am I, wow, wouldn't
at least love to be here today. She always was a bit of a party person in a good way.
She loved to laugh, and the place would be filled with her laughter, and her smile, and I
don't, indeed, she would love to be here today, and I'm not so much involved in trying to
tell you all how things work in the heavenly, but I just sort of have in my mind the idea
that she is here today.
Dear Maggie. Dear Nate. For the first time, I see what the rest of my life looks like.
I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget
that this is a once-in-a-lifetime love, that I always know in the deepest part of my soul
that no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we'll always find a way back to
each other.
I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience
that love demands, to speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they
are not, to agree to disagree on chocolate cake, and to live within the warmth of your
heart, and always call it home.
For as much as Nathan and Maggie have consented together in Holy Weblock, and have witnessed
the same before this company and before God, and thereto have pledged their faith each to
the other, and have declared the same by joining hands and by giving and receiving reign, I
pronounce that they are husband and wife together. In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, those who God has joined together, let no man put a sun-dirt.
Nathan, Nathan! Nathan you make this願!
And just when I thought you couldn't make me any happier, look what you did today.
You're amazing.
I look forward to a lifetime of joy, growth, and constant mispronunciations, common words.
I want to make plans with you for the rest of my life.
You've done so many amazing things for me to support me, help me, and surprise me.
I love you, and I like you.
We're going to live together, we're going to love together, and we're going to have
so much fun and a little pain, and we're going to live a life that's going to make other
people die with jealousy wishing they were us.
I've been looking for you my whole life.
I love you, and I like you.
I'm your guy.
And chasing you has been the smartest thing I've ever done in my life, and being chased
by you has been my greatest joy.
And now we don't have to chase each other anymore because we've finally caught each
other.
I've got to keep updating my vows as we go because one set of vows can't possibly cover
a lifetime of growing and changing with you, falling more and more in love with you every
day, which is what I vow to do for the rest of my life.
Let's bow together for a prayer, please.
Lord, our eternal God, Creator, and Preserver of all, giver of all spiritual grace, the
author of everlasting life, send your blessing upon Nathan and Maggie, whom we bless today
in your name, and they may surely perform and keep the vows and the covenant between
them made, may ever remain in perfect love and peace together, and live according to
thy laws, look graciously upon them, that they may love and honor and cherish each other,
and so live together in faithfulness and patience and wisdom and true godliness, that their home
may be a haven of blessing and a place of peace.
Dear Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.
