So we made the herbal tea a few years ago with Valyrian roots and Camar flowers and lavender flowers
and Tulsi leaf, also known as Holy Basil, just to have a simple cup of tea, end of the day,
something to help you feel grounded and calm.
And then we made the night time supplement as a stronger solution for people that might suffer more fluctuations in their sleep
and that's got Valyrian root in it and a go to cola and also a herb called nutmeg,
which I'm sure you're all familiar with.
Nutmeg's really good for grounding and holding your nervous system inside if you like,
so it helps you not wake up at night so you don't have this fluctuating sleep.
Plants have been used for a long time to help people's nervous system and to help people sleep.
They can modulate and balance some of our neurotransmitters in our brain
and affect some of the hormonal production in our body
and so the herbs generally support the body to do what it's trying to do anyway.
And with the night time tea, can you talk us through the herbs in it and the concentrations
and why it's a lot more effective than just drinking a cup of chamomile?
What we do that's special at Puckers is that we use organic herbs
and organic herbs have got higher levels of these protective compounds I was talking about in
because they're out there fending for themselves and the wild
and we also use an extremely high grade of herbs that have been tested for a certain quality
to ensure that they do what they say they should.
Chamomile is very effective for grounding and calming the nervous system.
Most chamomile tea on the market hasn't got this high level of essential oils
that we ensure we have at Puckers.
The grade of chamomile we use is extremely high,
so that could be one reason why I'm not at work.
But I think it's also down to the blend and the blend is like a good meal.
If you just have a plate of rice or pile of broccoli, it's not so tasty.
If you have a whole mixture of food with the right herbs and spices
then you digest it better and you enjoy it more.
It's a bit like that with a formula in a herbal tea.
Is it okay to take the tea and the supplements at the same time?
You can definitely use the tea and the supplement together.
The tea is like your daily evening cuppa if you like
and then a supplement you can use if you're having more prolonged periods of stress or anxiety.
To get the best benefit from the night time supplement
you probably want to take it a cup of ours before sleep.
That would be the ideal situation.
After supper, for example, that helps settle your nervous system.
If you've really been suffering for a while
you could have it a couple of times in the evenings.
You should feel the effects from the tea and the supplement straight away that night really.
I've had so many people come up to us over the years
saying that a cup of the night time tea has changed their life
because they can have a good night's sleep and then feel fresh for work and family the next day.
The experience of insomnia is like a lightening in a way.
It's like we float up out of our sleep, isn't it?
Normally with busy thoughts, potentially feeling too hot.
The herbs in night time help to ground and settle their mind.
