I mean at this point it's I make glass for me make glass because it feels good it feels right
the first post that comes in over there is going to go right in here right and then that
next balloon bit will be optic molded as well it's going to stick right in here and then
we pull it in there this back part is going to pull out and you're going to blow so it gets
it's always a struggle between craft and art there's a lot of people out there who are making
the same thing for like 30 years you know they call it art and I'm not one to say whether it
is art or not but you have to be able to push the limit first the envelope have new and creative
experience by Diaz about what you want to do and who you are always never go in process I think
so on one side you need to pay the bills you need to you know make cups and bowls and glasses for
people but on the other side there's people making money doing glass jellyfish or something you know
glass will do the same thing every time 99% of the time with like the hundredth time we'll jump
off the pipe or it won't stretch as you want it to or something you have to be able to go with
the flow you have to be able to fix mistakes after they happen be able to read the glass
no that's gonna happen I don't think there's any other art form people high-five each other and applaud and you know get stoned for like glass I mean there are people
standing around a painter when they're done painting like giving high-mives like yeah that was awesome you know make glass because
you can take away any sort of feeling that's happening at that very moment you can't worry about
any other thing it's it's what's happening hot right now that's what you're worried about it's a way to step away from reality
you
