You
In the past 90 years, the Campesinos de Santelena
lowered all their products in a chair and lowered them to the back.
Once a man who was on a balcony saw this group of Campesinos with the chairs on their backs
who were waiting to open the square and it seemed very nice to see them with those flowers
so I proposed to them why they didn't make a parade around the square.
That's how they did it and thanks to that, the Desfiles and Yeteros were instituted.
It's something we do with great pride, we enjoy it, we vibrate with what we do
and I don't have more words to say, it's something wonderful.
The Desfiles and Yeteros is a culture of the Campesinos de Santelena.
I think it's very important to follow the tradition of Yeteros culture
because it represents not only Santelena, but also Turkey,
Medellin, at a national and international level.
For me, the Desfiles and Yeteros is a very big pride.
When I start to work or imagine the Yeteros I'm going to make,
I feel happy, I feel like a knot in my stomach,
I really do it with satisfaction and with nothing to do with great joy.
The Desfiles and Yeteros is a legacy that our grandparents left us
and we must also transmit it to our children.
We consider ourselves artists, every year it's a challenge to do the best jobs,
every year we do different things and we become experts
and all that is valued and admired not only by those who visit us, but also by the same family.
I live, I get chocked in my eyes, when I finish my work and my hug,
they congratulate me, I feel proud, as well as when I'm going to carry the Yeteros.
Since I give it to them, it's because they put me in a typical way.
When the tourists applaud us, they inject us with energy, we vibrate,
that's the energy they give us.
It's something that comes out of our hearts from the inside
to be able to transmit all this energy and tradition to those who visit us.
It's necessary to work as a team and share these ideas and techniques
so that in time, this tradition and legacy that our ancestors left us will be lost.
I compare flowers to women and the one who works with flowers works with women,
which is the most beautiful. For example, I have three loves in my life,
which are my mother, my wife and my daughter.
At the time of making my Yeteros, the first thing I do is take a double garden and inspire them
and I start my Yeteros work and I dedicate everything I do to them.
The Yeteros are the most beautiful, and the best, and the most beautiful.
The Yeteros are the most beautiful, and the best, and the best, and the best.
It's perhaps the most important week of the week of the Fallen Flowers,
the same week as Christmas in December.
Since the week we gather around the elaboration of the Yeteros,
all the family, my nephews, my brothers, my cousins, my friends come and we enjoy a lot.
For the elaboration of the Yeteros, we took a long time
and we went out with our Yeteros, with our works of art, to the parade,
which lasted very little, but there it looks valued and compensated
the effort that we make all the Yeteros, all the family Yeteros, with the applause.
And not only that day, we are carrying the Yeteros,
but we are carrying a tradition of our ancestors, a history that we carry in our backs
and it is an honour for our ancestors to be Yeteros.
A Yeteros is not an individual work, it is done in family,
in the family that costs from father, mother, children,
and it expands to all the Yeteros, to the 500 Yeteros that we are from Santelena.
Each Yeteros, that day in the parade, takes care of its Yeteros
as if it were its most precious value, because in fact it is like that.
When we place ourselves in that typical costume, we feel better than the queens.
It is an honour and it is something that does not live in any country,
in any Antioquia.
We, in fact, as Yeteros, are recognized internationally.
And even though we are mountaineers who move in the field,
we have very humble workers, who are very humble families,
but it is worth it and we are recognized.
It is very cool, very cool.
The most beautiful thing that can happen to a Yeteros.
We do not enjoy it and we enjoy it,
as well as we enjoy it and enjoy the people who come to visit us
and how the fair of the flowers lives,
which I think is one of the main fairs in the country
and the most beautiful.
Where there are flowers, there is beauty.
Thank you very much.
