This is Euro on the Rock.
Oh, I got sand in my eyes.
Coming off the plane from Oahu, my first impression of Maui was it's super windy here.
There's so much wind and my cap blew off and everything was just moving and it was really,
I felt there's a lot of energy in this place and I've heard so many stories about Maui,
the waves and the windsurfing and I was really excited to come here and experience it firsthand.
I was in California with him and we were talking and I'm like, what do you think it's going
to be like?
And he kind of described it and it sounded a lot like his home and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
for sure.
And when he got here, right as he got off the plane and picked him up and started talking
to him, he was like, yeah, this is not really anything like the Hawaii back home except for
that rainbow.
You know, we get some rainbows back home.
I've been doing a lot of different sports here in Maui, whether it was surfing or windsurfing,
stand-up paddling.
I even went canoe surfing one day over in the South Shore and it was really fun with
the Lenny family and lots of good friends.
We just went out and it was only like one or two foot waves, but being in a four-man canoe
with a couple of good friends just turns everything into a good session is like you're dropping
down the biggest wave of your life.
You feel the canoes about to go underwater, but somehow you make it out of there and that
was an incredible experience.
Before I came here to Maui, I was on Wahu for the finals of the World Racing Series
and I was hanging out with the Nash team over there and all the guys invited me to come
here to Maui and train with them and experience the surf and kind of see Maui from the water.
And I was really excited so I jumped on a plane over here and found out it was super windy
but had some fun waves and I've been enjoying every day here on Maui with the Nash guys.
So I've been staying here with the Lenny family, with Kai and Ridge and Martin and Paula and
they've been super nice to me.
They've given me a little room to stay in and my daily routine has pretty much just
been wake up super early and check out the waves, grab some Cheerios with Ridge and then
head out for some surf and it's been really good, like for me I'm coming from Denmark
and it's like a dream to be able to just wake up every day in the warm conditions and be
able to grab a board and just go have fun on the water.
So I've been testing some equipment here and mostly just training and playing in the
water is what Maui is all about.
