One of the most extraordinary things that can happen in music and in arts in general
is when two worlds that we're not supposed to meet actually come together and meet. I think
that's really one of the most magical things that can happen and as an artist if you are able to
make this encounter, this meeting point happen then I really think that you're fulfilling one of the roles that you have.
These two composers had decided to do things in a completely different way. It's not only that
they were both looking into the future but they were looking at new ways to express themselves
and this is what to me music should be all about is to find new ways to express yourself and to find
new ideas, to try and find new worlds, new planets, to try to bring new dreams into our world and these
two composers had done it in the most extraordinary way with their sonatas.
They wanted to bring something completely new to their time and that's something that you don't see
with all the composers in history.
