My name is Samantha Meyers, my dolls are called four-lorn dolls.
I use what's called a polymer clay, which unlike earthen clay, never dries out until
you bake it, and you can bake it in your home oven.
It's a little more durable than earthen clay.
I start by sculpting the head first, and then I get to put onto a torso.
Arms and legs come later on.
When you try to talk with people about your dolls, how do you generally describe them?
Most of the dolls are themes of the 19th century.
I guess you could say romanticized past.
Since I've baked the doll and I start painting her, she kind of creates her own look and
her own story.
Sleeping bride of McHugh, with a spell cast and a little laundromatoo, to sleep with
the bride of McHugh, and her wine a lofty tincture of opium.
Sweet Odessa was doomed with one sip, as poison seeped in over rose colored lips.
I
always hear about the eyes just telling the whole story of the doll's character.
