Hello, my name is Xiong Da and I'm a professional videographer and product designer from the
Netherlands.
As a professional videographer, I choose a camera with a lot of manual controls to achieve
cinematic shots.
However, using a lens is something that is really hard to control, as it's often out
of your sight while you're behind the camera, making precise and fast rack focusing impossible
without additional equipments like a follow focus, which also requires a rig making it
heavy and bulky.
So we have designed the Kabuto Focus, which enables you to rack focus even without a rig
system.
In the beginning, we designed the Kabuto Focus with simplicity in mind, something light
and able to fit on the widest ranges of lenses, from the newest to the older manual lenses
and even the smallest C mount lenses.
And after several design changes, we now have the final design.
The Kabuto Focus is based on the shape of the Kabuto Beetle, which has a large horn on
its head, yet it does not make its head heavy and interfere with its movements.
Also our Kabuto Focus follows this design and principle, and is so light that it will
not interfere with your focus ring.
And following the shape of the horn, it enables you to take control of the Kabuto Focus while
using just one finger.
This means in certain configurations, you can change focus while using both hands holding
the camera steady and just use one finger to control it.
In combination with the sensor marker, you can now easily mark the focus to rack focus
between several subjects, while able to see the marks from behind the camera.
It's not only useful for film, but also for events and broadcasting.
With the Kabuto Focus, you will now know where to set your focus and worry less about it.
To attach the Kabuto Focus, we advise hooking the rubber band first and then put it over
your lens.
It's just as simple as that.
Because of the transparent material, you can also use the sensor marker behind the Kabuto
Focus and still see the focus marks.
Right now we already have paired up with several Dutch manufacturers in Holland and can start
producing the individual parts.
However, we need your help with funding so we can start producing the Kabuto Focus.
So check out our rewards on the right and thank you for watching.
