Okay, let's go.
Families do from time to time have a particular kind of character that's really strong and
you know I think our family does have that.
There just are not a lot of families that do art making.
They're weird.
You know, we're not like everybody else.
Hey guys, don't forget to come to the show this weekend.
It's the milieu that they've grown up in.
I mean if I was a basketball coach, maybe we'd have a basketball team.
Brendan and I ended up having this big family of six kids and they were all born at home
and it all kind of set off this whole precedent of you have a baby at home, what else can
you do at home?
How you doing princess?
There's a lot of different components to what we do that's not just making pictures.
There's running a business, there's education, there's the spiritual component.
The art show is also great as a way for the children to get in the mix, for them to kind
of cut their teeth, you know, even just social skills.
The Beale Horse family is like a brand and it's a family that's not just us but like
you know all our friends and every artistic movement has created a context for itself
and I think that's what we're doing.
Yeah, I mean in different ways they all have different interests of course.
This is what we do for a living and we've been doing this for a number of years now
and we've gotten to the point now where we have art all over the world.
We've kind of created this Beale Horse myth.
The children do have a lot of freedom and I think that is attractive to some people.
It's much more idealized than real life.
I do think there's a winsomeness about our life that is true but there's also you know
the struggle behind the scenes that people don't see.
There's a lot of clashing personalities where artistic.
Sometimes they would just like it to be easier.
They see what other kids have like new shoes, new game systems.
But we're creating something that actually can impart something to people.
This is a big deal and there's a lot at stake.
So when we have to kind of pay the price where it's like well there's not a lot of
money and maybe we're going to do some dumpster diving this in the next couple of weeks.
For us it's really important that you do what's in your heart regardless of whether people
understand it or not.
Thank you.
