You
For me it was a dream come true in 1990 riding for Planet Earth and becoming a pro and somehow
I managed to stay in the game all the way through 2008, 2009 was actually my last event
and it was just amazing that it started out with such a special company at Planet Earth.
Working in action sports you know through the 18, 19 years was an amazing experience.
Now I look at skateboarding differently it's all about fun and back to the roots of why I started
it's about skateboarding with my friends and now it's my kids and going to the skate park with my kids
I don't go to the park without my kids these days and that's awesome.
So I kind of just saw an opportunity to take everything that I learned from that industry
and skateboarding itself and apply that towards something that I really believed in.
It was time to do something different and somehow I stumbled on biofuels and started making biodiesel
on my side yard of my house collecting oil from a couple restaurants and fueling my own cars
with my own grease and I also realized at the retail level you know I mean here in San Diego
you just unless you made it yourself like I did you couldn't get it anywhere
and there's plenty of room here for a biofuel company to exist and help San Diego recycle
and reuse and you know distribute fuel to the system so more people at the retail level
can help reduce emissions and do their part.
I really think that's what it's about is about everyone doing their part.
That's why I created Buster Biofuels with the purpose of you know reclaiming used cooking oil at restaurants
and turning into an alternative fuel that's better for the environment better for everyone
better for the economy I think to reduce our dependency on foreign oil.
In working with a local company that was going to turn our cooking oil into biodiesel
that was going to be used in the San Diego school buses I thought that was fantastic.
It's a local community that's getting involved to get rid of their waste product
to provide something that Buster can use to provide us with fuel that we need to operate our buses on
and I think it's great that we can depend on that we don't have to depend on foreign oil.
You know it was real simple for me you know it was creating Buster Biofuels
was about the vision of reclaim recycle refuel using a resource at hand locally
recycling that into biodiesel and getting it back into a system.
There's so many people that want biodiesel in San Diego and there's just at the retail level it's just not available
so created the company to help with that problem and it's amazing working with a lot of companies
like Padres and Legoland and other small fleets and you know being somewhat of a solution for them
by providing some biodiesel so they can help reduce emissions and do their part.
