We started Pink Fringe in 2009 to organise and support
free cultural events in Brighton and this is our second year of doing things in
Pride and we were approached by Brighton and her council to organise Pink Fringe
just right. It's been very very exciting, we've had terrible shamings, we've had Timberluna
making Molly's Bings, we've had Boogaloo Stooges with Public Paramore
We were inspired to do something at Pride and we realised that it's kind of
become quite a party event and it's not so much cultural sort of thing, we thought
that somebody should maybe add a little bit more cultural to it. And we've had
Betty Bourne doing a little piece who's playing Quentin Crisp. I've known
people who have been in prison twice as long without writing any of that bad
verse. I'm really pleased that Pride is what it is but I think it's less
unequivocally and we're not that good.
It's been a long time, a long time, a long time
Sometimes you smile, and I'll gamble away my fright
And I'll gamble away my time, until a year, a year or so
There's no serpent to see, but it's been a long time, a long time
Since I've seen you, see where you're going
Thanks for watching!
