It's 5 and 10 from Skywatch TV for December 18th.
I'm Derek Gilbert, topic number five today, spending a week in Atlanta one night.
That's what thousands of people did at Hartz Field in Atlanta on Sunday.
Power finally restored there at Hartz Field Jackson Airport after an outage that began
Sunday afternoon. Power wasn't restored until nearly midnight, 11 hours without power at
the world's busiest airport. Not a fun way to spend your Sunday.
A ground stop in Atlanta left disrupted air travel all across the United States.
Thousands of flights disrupted more than a thousand flights in and out, canceled on Sunday.
The outage left passengers sitting on the tarmac for hours at a time, some as often,
as long as seven, eight hours before they were able to get off the plane.
Shortly after power came back about midnight, passengers began lining up at the TSA checkpoints,
hoping to beat the rush through the checkpoints, which opened up again around 3.30 Monday morning.
More than 400 flights had to be canceled on Monday due to the backlog.
The outage, which affected all airport operations, began with a fire in the Georgia Power Underground
electrical facility near the airport.
Fact number four, terror in Pakistan. Pakistani security forces on high alert.
On Monday following a suicide attack by Islamic state operatives that targeted a Christian
church killing nine people. The assault on Sunday in Kuwait, the capital of the southwestern
province of Baluchistan, wounded about 60 worshipers at a Methodist church there. This
was the first attack on a Christian church claimed by the Islamic state affiliate in
Pakistan. Mass funerals of those killed were to be held later Monday in Kuwait.
About 400 worshipers were attending service when two bombers carrying assault rifles were
stopped and killed or stopped and engaged by security guards outside the church.
This triggered a gun battle in which one assailant was killed by security forces. The other detonated
his bomb belt, which led to the deaths and injuries.
Topic number three, the CIA armed the Islamic state in Syria. Mainstream media outlets in
the United States like USA Today, Reuters, Buzzfeed, just out over the last few days
with stories breaking exclusive news that weapons that were supposed to go to Syrian
rebels wound up in the hands of the Islamic state.
Now if you've watched Skywatch TV for the last couple of years, you'd notice that we've
been talking about this for a while because this is really not news. It might be news
to Americans, but really isn't news if you've been paying attention. An independent research
group based in the UK called Conflict Armament Research or C.A.R. has had a team of weapons
and munitions experts on the ground in the Middle East for years. And by tracing serial
numbers, shipping markings on crates and other forensics data, C.A.R. began finding as early
as 2013 that much of the Islamic state's armament were sourced in the United States.
Now this report is evoking shock. I am shocked to find gambling in this establishment. On
the part of American commentators, this, as I said, is not really news. When Outlets
Light Skywatch TV began reporting on the 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency analysis, which
was publicized by Judicial Watch, obtained it through a Freedom of Information Act request,
the DIA report from August of 2012, warning that the United States government by trying
to arm Syrian rebels to take down the government of Bashar al-Assad was actually creating a
Salafist Principality or Islamic State in Syria and Western Iraq, which is of course exactly
what happened for a while. But those reports back in the day were laughed off by responses
like this. It's a conspiracy theory. Well, they're not laughing now, but they're still
soft peddling the significance of the C.A.R. research by saying, oh, it was weaknesses
in oversight and accidental weapons transfers that put it in the hands of the Islamic State.
No. This is what you call plausible deniability is what it is. This was a deliberate effort
to arm anyone who would go after the government of Bashar al-Assad. The Islamic State just
happened to be the ones who stepped up to try to fill that role. Of course, the junkyard
dog slipped his leash and then had to be put down. Sadly, it ain't dead yet, and more people
will die because we got involved in nation building once again.
Topic number two, missing trillions inside the United States government. Scholars at
Michigan State University have found $21 trillion in unauthorized government spending. That's
$21 trillion with a truck. The work of economist Mark Skidmore from Michigan State University
working with graduate students and a former government official, Catherine Austin Fitz,
they found $21 trillion. This is just from the Department of Defense, Departments of
Defense and Housing and Urban Development between the years 1998 and 2015. Skidmore got involved
in this work when he heard an interview with Fitz, in which she's a former Assistant Secretary
of HUD, by the way. Fitz referred to a report which indicated that the Army had about $6.5
trillion in unsupported adjustments, unauthorized adjustments in its budget, in the 2015 budget
alone. Now Skidmore thought this couldn't possibly be correct because the budget of
the Army, the Defense Department budget for the year was only like $122 billion, so how
could they have $6.5 trillion in unsupported adjustments? Well, he got in touch with Fitz
and sure enough, once they started digging into it, he found she was in fact correct.
$6.5 trillion was correct. And when they started digging further, $21 trillion in unauthorized
government expenses between 1998 and 2015. Now, as we told you last week, the Department
of Defense has announced it's going to have its first ever in the history of the United
States, first ever department-wide independent financial audit and then annual audits going
forward. Now, is Skidmore's work responsible for this? Don't know, but if it is, good on
ya. Thank you.
And topic number one, Eyes in the Sky. A major asteroid passed close to Earth last month
without any warning. The asteroid with the rather mundane name, 2017 VL-2, measured between
52 and 105 feet in diameter. Traveling at about five and a half miles per second, it came
within 73,000 miles of Earth. To give you a sense of how close that is, that's about
one-third the distance between Earth and the Moon. But we didn't know about it until the
day after it passed and it was spotted by the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. Scientists
speculate that if it had hit the Earth, something that big, moving that fast, it would have
wiped out all life within about four miles of the impact, assuming it hit land.
In the New York Times reported on Saturday that the Pentagon ran a secret program to
investigate reports of unidentified flying objects between 2007 and 2012 with an annual
budget of about $22 million that funding inserted in defense allocations by retired Senator
Harry Reid of Nevada. Of course, not coincidentally, location of Area 51. This was run by a defense
intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, who incidentally retired recently and is now working with the
former lead singer of Blink 182, Tom DeLong, who last fall announced, or this fall actually,
announced a new for-profit company called To The Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences.
They've raised over $2 million in funding. The purpose, as far as I can tell by reading
their mission statement, is to indoctrinate the next generation of kids and grandkids
into believing that extraterrestrials are real and that official disclosure is just
minutes away. Look at the board of directors for To The Stars Academy. You'll notice that
the intelligence community is very heavily represented, including the scientists who
headed up research into remote viewing for Stanford Research Institute back in the day.
Part of the board of directors of To The Stars Academy. By the way, that's why Josh Peck
and I have written the new book, The Day the Earth Stands Still, because we Christians
need to be prepared to address stuff like this. Look, we believe in the God who spoke
the universe into existence. Our worldview is large enough to address this particular
topic. And by the way, The Day the Earth Stands Still is now the number one new release in
the science and religion category at Amazon.com. But you can get a better deal by going to
the Skywatch TV store. The book, plus the two novels by Dr. Michael Heiser, The Facade
and the poor tent, Josh Peck's new book Unraveling the Multiverse and the five DVD set Project
Stargate. Never before seen interviews on the UFO and alien abduction phenomena. All
of that for just $39.99 plus shipping and handling. SkywatchTVstore.com. Take us with
