Okay, I'm almost out of shrimp, so we're going to try some frozen eca, squid.
So how do we clean this?
Let me take one out for you and I'll show you how.
Okay, I'll take out this one here.
Okay.
Here's the squid, what we do is we get my kitchen shears, cut it right along the back
side like so, open it up, see all that, this is the cartilage here, that's what the bigger
squids you put in your cage for your bird to go chew on, these are the guts, normally
I don't litter, but over here everything's going to get going back to the sand crabs
so I put it over here, so now, hold on, chop my scissors, so now we've got a fairly clean
piece of squid here, you can use a knife, scissors or your fingernails and see what's
happening, I'm scratching this and I'm separating the skin from the meat, now you don't have
to do this but a lot of people feel that the fish can see the bright shiny white meat better
than when the skin's still on it, okay, alrighty, so this piece here will make three strips
and the head will make one final one, so what I'm going to do is, I'm going to take about
a one inch strip, cut it like so, alright, so we've got a one inch strip here, now what
we're going to do, fold it in half, okay, we're going to take our hook and about so
almost an inch down, put it through, see now it's holding on better because it's holding
on to the bait, the spices take instead of just one, one thickness, now it's two thickness,
turn it around, going through two times and one more time, so we're going to make this,
oops, three times and this hook has gone through the meat that's been doubled, alright, now
normally that should be in the end of it but let me show you something, okay, just clean
myself up a little bit here, we're going to get some of our handy dino floss, this is
the thicker dino floss I get from Walmart, so we're going to run the dino floss through
the eyelet of the hook, like so, we're going to twirl it around a couple of times around
the meat, see and what happens is that the eyelet is going to hold everything right
there, alright, see what I did, now just make a couple of knots, there's one, one granny
two grannies, I usually like to go three, there you go, three, then what I do is I'm
going to cut this, I always bring my kitchen shears, I'm going to cut it real close to
the knot, see, look at that, can't even see any of the tines and I throw this in my bucket
because I'm going to get rid of everything later on, it's always good to get rid of your
cuttings because you don't want to litter, alright and I always bring a bucket and I
prefer to put fresh water in it, Eason B is because you know I'll soak my tools in it,
you don't want to soak it in salt water because it's just going to cause it to rust up, I
always bring a little towel, wipe my hands with, now we're going to put our litter on
the three way swivel and in my video that I just made a couple of days ago I showed
how to make these litter so there's no sense to show it again, oops let me see, pinch this,
put it through, this is a loop knot I had made earlier, see that, put the bait through
it, pull it taunt, see so what I'm going to have now is when this is out the float over
here will be floating, my lead line is here coming down and what I have is my suspended
bait above the bottom so a little peaches on the bottom like crabs and all that I can
get to it and as a finishing touch we're going to get my scissors, my kitchen shears again
and at the bottom of the bait we're going to mark, we're going to cut a little slit,
that's a little teaser slit so it's going to be flapping around with the swells or the
current and it will actually draw in the fish, thank you.
