Have you ever started a path?
No one bothers to start it.
We don't mind using the ones that are there.
Come here on the path, Dave.
It's time to start a path.
Hi guys, I'm Will Rishbeth.
We're here for the SRAM 2010 National Mountain Bike Championships
at Eagle Park, and we're going to do a track walk.
We start off with the mellow start ramp here, and we head into a right hand turn.
We jump over some rocks, then we get a left hand burn.
Right hand burn, come down, come over the right.
Once you come across this cold one here,
you can fetch up a lot further on the right hand side,
or the left hand side for us.
And then you hit this left hand turn with a lot more speed.
We've also pulled the tape across on this right hand turn now,
so you can carry a lot more speed through the next little section.
Nice and tight through here, pretty fast.
And that's my phone ring.
Alright, that's it.
Right, let's take it.
There you go, mate.
Come across that hill, across the ridge,
then you pump down through that transition,
come through the berms here,
and you hop through the hole and go down to a really nice fast off-camber right hand turn.
You then drop into a left.
It's really nice, got a few different lines coming in.
You have time to up the end, then you cut across to the right hand there.
You've got some riders coming down now,
hit that left hand turn where it was just worth.
You pop across, you've got some nice flowy turns,
go into a nice rocky flat here,
and then here's a jump.
Give it to Stiley, give it to Stiley.
Oh, the connection starts off,
and it comes into a really tight left hander at the bottom,
so it banks up and hit it right.
Oh, it's going to sneeze at me, I'm not.
We're at the part where it changes into a new track here.
We've got riders coming down the new steep section.
All through the poles there, looking nice.
It's nice and steep, you come into a big left hander,
you've got two line choices.
You've got a nice big off-camber left on the inside,
or a big square left wall.
Alright, so as you can see it's pretty challenging,
especially at pace when you want to come down.
Okay, so we're here just at the end of the steep section now,
and you come across the second culvert.
We've made a nice long run out rather than what it used to be,
so we've just two steps up into the culvert.
Now we've just made a long nice bank,
and you can air off to wherever.
So after the second culvert there,
we've got a long left hander,
a bit of a step down here, then into a right hand turn.
So after that right hand burn there,
we've come down, hit a creek gap, and then a step down.
We just had a bit of a crash over there,
so I'll just come down to the creek jump.
So you come into a pretty cruisy right hand turn there,
then you pop over a little jump that we've added in.
That's to pump a bit more speed as you come into the near section here.
So where we were before on that roller,
we've pulled a lot of the dirt back,
it used to be a pretty nasty rise there.
So we've pulled a lot of the dirt back
so you don't even have to pedal in coming into this rocky left here,
into a dropping right hand turn,
then you come along that platform there,
come down, step down off the rock,
into the near section that we've added in here.
Got some loamy dirt there, nice and loose,
bit of left hand turn, then you drop into the right.
After that brand new section,
you come across and it's pretty much all the same as last year's track,
some nice flowy switchbacks,
and you come out into the open down the bottom here.
You see Henry coming through, drifting across,
off the drop and you can really tip it into that right hand corner like you saw there.
This is one of the big changes that we've got on the track here.
You come off the old rock chute, hit the left hand turn,
then you turn off right into a right hand hit,
into a really drifty right hand turn.
Really loose, flat right hander as you can see,
then it drops away, straight away,
allows you to get a nice amount of speed for that next left hand hit.
We've done the track walk here at the 2010 SRAM Australian National Mountain Bike Championships.
I hope to see you out here, it's going to be a fun race.
