Well there you go.
We still have to go to the mart.
Why is that okay?
I'm trying to think because I came here a long time ago with my parents and I remember
we went out on a boat trip and we went snorkeling and stuff, but my dad was when surfing, I
didn't even, I was too young to understand, we went surfing a couple times, it was super
blown out, I remember that, but coming back to Maui a little bit older and also enjoying
the sport of kite surfing, Maui really offers everything that I could ever want.
I love Maui, it's warm and beautiful and there's waves and wind, so what more could
you ask for?
The Maui was just like, that was the place to go, from Hatter, so you're just like everyone
that was traveling was just trying to go to Maui.
It's like you could be the big fish in a little pond and you're never going to progress
more, but when you come here, everybody that's out is pushing themselves as hard as they
can, so everybody just grows so much faster and you're just going to progress so much
quicker.
And your level is going to be so much higher than you ever could at a place that there's
just a couple of kites that mow the lawn every day.
That's what I love about Maui, that's what I love about Maui, that's what I love about
Maui.
It was always a passion, I mean I started when I was nine, and by the time I was ten
or eleven it was all I was thinking about.
It's just, it's the only thing that really, I can really like get everything out, so go
out there and just ride and they just don't worry about anything, all stress is gone.
The first time I was out was incredible, it was almost like a dream, you could jump, you
could boost really high, you could get dragged around, you could get towed into waves and
it was just all around a great experience and it has kept me coming back to the sport
ever since.
So I'm here on this trip with Ryder and Terrence, they're some of Air Rush's newest team riders
on the surf side, they're young and up and coming and they're doing great in the sport.
It's refreshing to have a couple of people on a trip there that are as motivated as me
to get out in the water and kite.
I pretty much just let the younger riders figure it out for themselves, I'm not really
one to tell them how to do anything, they pretty much have it dialed and if they don't
they'll learn, so that's how I learned, I usually learn the hard way.
Just running out over reefs and jumping into huge waves without any wind is sketchy but
it's very humbling and you learn quickly.
Ryder has a really unique style of kiting I think, he's a big guy, he's like 200 pounds
so he'll just be going along and barely enough wind to stay up, just edging and I'm like
oh he's definitely underpowered and then all of a sudden he'll just hit a little wave
and throw a massive front roll and land it and it's just like where did that come from
and Bear's just always got that smooth style, seems like no matter what wind or condition
he's in he's always kiting just powerful down the line, top to bottom.
I really just want to travel and kite new spots, places nobody's kited and make really
good videos, I think that to me sounds the most fun just hanging out with friends in
cool places, kiting new spots and putting out things people have never seen before.
Yeah I think traveling the world and kind of working with different places kiting is
kind of what I always thought, going to all the best spots, I mean you can only be on
YouTube so long looking at the best places in the world before you have to visit them.
You can't stay at home forever, you gotta go see what's better out there and just keep
kiting, just keep going, it's all basically enough you need to just keep kiting around
the world, it's all you really need to have.
Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you in the next one.
