The Vedic Pravargya ritual, performance is in Delhi, December 11th and 12th, 1996.
The first part of the film shows a regular Pravargya performance, the peace invocation,
the placing and heating of the pot, the milking of the cow, the adding of the milk to the
heated pot and the offering proper to Ashwin's and to Indra.
Further, an Agni Hothra is added at the performance partake of the remainders of the offering.
The Pravargya is concluded after some corrective offerings just in case something went wrong
with a long peace invocation.
In the context of the Soma sacrifice, the Pravargya is immediately followed by an Upasarth
offering, the sprinkling of the Soma stalks and the Subramanya invocation, which is an
invitation to Indra to come to the Soma sacrifice.
The second part of the film shows the final disposal of the Pravargya implements, together
with some conjoining rituals within the complex Soma sacrifice.
First, an offering at the Uttaravedi is shown.
Next, the Pravargya implements are brought to the Uttaravedi while the performers sing
the Tyaghnai Saman at three stages.
Finally, this is followed by the Agni Pranayana, or carrying forth of the fire, which concludes
the whole film.
