You're about to start because I don't know anything about drab.
Well, good morning. I'm Kathleen, Kathleen Elliott. This is my friend.
I'm Wilma Josling and I live in Leania. Kath is my friend. We both knew each other.
We were in New Zealand and we both came to Darwin at different times.
I've only been here now for 10 years and Kath has been here only in 76.
Oh, that's a long time.
We came here this morning because we wanted a cup of coffee to be out and about.
But we hadn't been here for quite a while. This is where the Weaver's Workshop was across the road.
And it was a wonderful place. It started off down in the rural area.
There were two ladies here, Maski and her sister.
And they had a wonderful shop here if you were interested in needlework or any kind of weaving.
Anyway, there's another place that I do still come to and that's the Happy Garden Restaurant.
It's one of my favourite places and it's often very busy so you always have to book.
I like Pirat because of the trees and also it's a place that is a little bit alternative.
I think it's had different places here.
Even the corrugated iron cafe that used to be around the corner in the side street
has now got this prominent position here, not open today though.
And also it has a long time now had Jacksons for their art supplies so people interested in art expression come here.
Also there's a gallery, the art gallery in the Vimmy name.
And a very nice Indian restaurant there as well.
But Wilma hasn't been here very much so I thought that I could come here confidently today to find coffee.
Only to find that the shop we were going to is closed on this Monday because of repairs to the air conditioning.
It's probably the most diverse part of Darwin I think.
