This is Tropical Music, episode number 14.
Hello and welcome to another installment of this fine podcast.
I am Robert Tico Morales. I'm your host today.
And we got a couple of nice things for you in this episode.
But first of all, I forgot to mention in the last episode.
This is my new rig here. I've decided to resurrect some of my old equipment
and mix it up with my new equipment and it's kind of like a Frankenstein of the studio.
For some things, I'm still using the good old PC.
For stuff like mastery and stuff like that. Now for music production, for music creation,
I'm using Logic Studio 8. But since I don't have a decent audio interface right now,
for now I'm using the Roland 1680, which is like 10 years old.
But it sounds decent for Mike Priams and some effects and stuff.
But mostly I'm doing all the mixing inside Logic Studio.
I used to have the Pro Tools 002 rack. It was called, but somehow it died.
The fire wire didn't want to connect anymore.
If anybody wants to try to fix it, send me an email and I'll send it to you.
I don't know what to do with it.
First of all, in this episode we're going to feature two brand new artists,
two upcoming artists that show a lot of promise.
The first one is Carlos Bertonati, who was born in Caracas, Venezuela.
He lives now in Miami and he has a very, very nice style of music.
He comes to us courtesy of Aerial Publicity.
And here's his video.
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, which is where my mother's from.
Actually, the city I grew up in.
Eventually I moved to Miami in my teens and immediately it became my home.
It was a really interesting environment for me to grow up in.
Even though it was different and I barely spoke English.
So I got made fun of a lot.
I'm curious to kill the cat.
I think the chorus itself tells you it's so easy to fall in love.
I definitely believe that most people think that it has to be all this complicated process.
You know, you deal with people just putting walls up.
But it's really not really easy to just let yourself go.
8, 2, 1, 0, what do you think?
Well, at least you don't think so.
So I'm saying that's an uneven side to sides.
The easiest thing to do is run and hide.
I just get so caught up in this lonely lullaby.
Plains fly above me, crossing the boundaries of gravity.
So a billion miles, it's obviously about a long distance relationship.
It's one of those hard situations about how passionate you are about the person
and so sad that you can't be with them.
I'd get on that train, I'd get on that place.
I'd crawl a million miles to see you again.
My little confession is now my obsession.
A million miles, a million miles to see you.
So in my writing, I've always realized that we need very little to be happy.
At the end of the road, when we're all done, you're just going to remember specific moments.
It's about making those moments fun.
So I just want to remind people of that.
And that's the conclusion to this episode 14 of Tropical Music with Robert Tico.
That's me.
I leave you with this song by Irene B.
She's a singer from Barcelona, Spain, and she has a new single in English.
And this is her song.
As always, thanks for watching and have a good one.
See you next time.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for watching.
I'm writing you this song just to let you know.
I understand you think that my life's a lie.
From a moment I feel past, I saw it in your eyes.
And I knew that it may take you down the stairs.
Baby, I can't let go.
Baby, I can't let go.
Because you're an angel, I was set from above.
Yeah, yeah, you're the one that I, you're the one that I adore.
I can never do it again.
I can never do it again.
I need you to forgive me now.
Something better to step on.
I can never do it again.
I swear I need you to forgive me now.
Baby, forgive me.
Please, I need you to forgive me now.
So I can start all over again.
To be you, you're the two, always together.
I love you.
Baby, I can't let go.
I know I'm so far from you.
I can't let go.
I was set from above.
Baby, I can't let go.
I can never do it again.
I swear I need you to forgive me now.
Something better to step on.
I can never do it again.
We're gonna need you to forgive me
