Hi everybody, I'm Monodama and I want to welcome you to Monodama TV, the place to be to grow
your yogic practice and your luminous soul life.
So today we're talking about nada yoga and I actually have this on the board, nada yoga.
So I want you to just take a minute and consider the concept of nada yoga.
What is nada yoga?
Well first of all, nada comes from the root nud to sound.
Nada comes from the root nud to sound.
And yoga comes from the root yuj to unite.
Yoga comes from the root yuj to unite.
Nada means sound and yoga means union.
So nada yoga means union through sound.
But more deeply and more intricately understood is that nada is not just manifested sound,
but it is also unmanifested sound.
And I know that may sound like, what do you mean unmanifested sound?
But when we as sanskritists and as yogis in training, yoginis in training, when we go
into the sound aspect and the mantric qualities of sound and we look at vibration, what we're
starting to notice is that underneath all the sound, again, is the vibration and underneath
that vibration is a very subtle sound.
So get yourself in a comfortable position for the time being and just relax your body.
Maybe just move those shoulders back, center yourself and connect with your breathing so
that there's a free flow in your body.
Aum, Aum, Aum, Aum.
And now just from chanting that sacred sound Aum, I want you to keep your eyes closed and
start to listen to what we call the inner sound vibration or that nada.
This is engaging the beginning practice of nada yoga, of feeling yourself through sound.
Aum, Aum, Aum, Aum.
Aum, Aum, Aum.
