Hey to girls, State of Fire here at the IPP Bazaar, beautiful day here and we're here
basically with one of Miss Jamaica's top runner-up. Is that so? Correct me if I'm
wrong, no problem with that. I'm the last one to talk about this. I've represented
Jamaica twice at Miss Universe and Miss World. Alright, definitely. So who it feels to be a party
all in it, so are you just coming here to browse around a little bit? No, I'm very much in full
support of this charity. I mean it's brilliant that it gives support to mothers in Jamaica that
don't have the means to take care of their children. So I mean this charity is absolutely amazing and I
love how it gives back to the Jamaican women. Most definitely and I think that the Jamaican
women need that boost. Of course. Always, always to make them understand that they are strong, yeah.
And in turn it helps Jamaica grow because the children get that blessing and it helps them
to have more opportunities in life. We're at the IPP Bazaar and our ambassador for Nigeria
is going to tell us a little bit how it feels to be a part of all of this
and representation from your Nigerians in Jamaica. How you feel about it? Well, I tell you
Nigeria has always been at home in Jamaica because we believe we are brothers. We believe we are
related by blood. If you look at the antecedents of Jamaican history right from the slave trade
time, majority of the ancestors of Jamaica, they were cut away from Africa and from West Africa.
And Nigeria has a population of 70% of West Africa and therefore 70% of the ancestors of
Jamaica. They are Nigerians. Nigeria has always associated with anything Jamaica is doing.
We have always lent our support. And this exercise is to help international disadvantaged
children because I believe this is IPP and international proxies parents. They are to
adopt parents that are less fortunate and give them opportunities in life. And anything of
sort Nigeria is willing to assist. And that is why we have made a contribution. We have not only
displayed Nigerian artifacts, Nigerian goods. We have also given free food for the people.
But we have also donated money, handsome money, you know, to help the cause. Incidentally, I am a
member of the IPP, the international proxies parents. What we do in this bazaar is to raise funds,
to look after the less privileged children in Jamaica. I'm happy to be a part of this program.
And I thank you too for coming to cover the event. Thank you.
Hey, it's your girl Cece Firehair with YMI TV. It's all about me here with Mr. George Meekle,
author of In Praise of Jamaica, a beautiful book I should say that speaks about all our natural
wonders and heroes and achievements. And he's basically going to give us an idea of how it
feels to be a part of all of this. We have been promoting the books through IPP. We give them
a percentage of the sales. So we did this before and they were very successful. Okay.
Our book is wonderful for Jamaicans abroad who may not remember how nice Jamaica is.
Everything positive about Jamaica, nothing negative. I think maybe I have one page or one
paragraph, but it's all about our achievements, more than music and sports, education, art,
literature, and our history. You know, where we've been, what we've come through, and where we are now,
all of our heroes. For the youngsters abroad, we don't know their country. They're bombarded by
our negative press. So basically, I wrote this for my grandchildren. I want them to know
about Jamaica in a more balanced way, in a positive way. And so that is my, it's a two-year
sacrifice of putting all this information together. I'm the managing director of Sound of Joy Music
Productions. We are live musicians with these special events and weddings and awards functions.
And recently, we went into doing products, which is what I am here, showcasing my products.
Sing and Play the Jamaican Way book and CD. The book, for those who can, the book who can,
for those who can play the piano, there's a CD at the back of it. And also, for those who cannot
play, there's a CD with your 30 favorite Jamaican songs with the book letting in for sing-along
promises. Wow. Our products are featured in London this year in the best of Brand Jamaica Showcase.
Please, God, I love you, listen to me, I love you, man.
We're here with Trinidad Barn. When they're levesly, 2012 National
awardee receiving the Hummingbird goal at our 50th anniversary of independence.
That's wonderful. And how has it been so far?
So far, what I'm seeing here is great. And what I'm seeing here, I'm going to introduce
back to my country, Trinidad and Tobago, because here we've seen a lot of embassies come together
and sell the product of their country. And when I look and I see the way how things operate here
in Jamaica, I must thank the organizers for putting across something like today. And today
is charity for children in Jamaica. I had some doubles and the doubles is great.
You did? Yes, it is. That's just a tip of the eyes, but we have a lot of things to offer.
But what's important here is the children and most importantly is the charitable work. And I want
to say this is better than United Nations because you can see all different ethnicities,
all different countries coming together right here in Jamaica and making a difference. And that
says a lot.
Hi, my name is Sherry and friends of Christ and they're tweeting into YMI TV.
You don't have to ask, it's all about me.
I'm Joey McEw, immediate class president and I'm Sonia Tomlinson, class president.
Hi, how are you today? And it's wonderful, about to rain, but we don't really care about that.
It's a wonderful day. And it's all for the children, all for the children. As past presidents,
trust me, we have done our part and we are still here doing our part again. And it's all for the
children. We're very happy and very proud of what happened today to see all the countries supporting
us and supporting the children of Jamaica from all over the world really. And it was a wonderful day.
And it's always a pleasure to see all the countries getting together like this.
And as you could see, Nigeria just took over the floor and I'm so proud of them. Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
We are watching YMI TV. Do you really have to ask? It's all about me.
