Hi, I'm Michael Sandman. I'm a nowhere I play bass. I'm Adam James and I play the drums.
Hi, I'm Chris. I play guitar. I'm Stanton and I play keyboards. And I'm Matt and I play guitar and I sing.
I got into music at a really, I guess, young-ish age, but it was kind of like the standard, like, growing up, like, skateboard, punk stuff here in, you know, good old West Cleveland suburbs.
And then some guy that worked at a boarders, like, turned me on to, like, Fugazi and my bloody Valentine and Pavement when I was, like, 15 and then everyone that lived out here didn't get into that.
So, I just kind of went down the rabbit hole. But, well, you guys.
My brother, man. If it wasn't for my brother, I wouldn't be in to have this shit that I'm into.
My grandpa forced me to take piano lessons.
My dad put a cello in my hand when I was five.
He's insanely good at piano.
A cello?
It's actually called cello.
Is that some sort of standard instrument?
Yeah. I used to pretend that our organ at home was a spaceship and then I realized it made noise.
I started playing, like, on top of spaghetti and shit.
I was friends with these guys.
Okay.
We all liked to play music. I made a dumb record in my house and they liked it and we all play it now.
No, I mean, like, it's cool. Like, it sounds way better.
I mean, I basically made the record, like, not expecting anyone to listen to it outside of, like, you know, three people.
And then, you know, people actually listen to it and, like, it feels very good.
And then, you know, these are my friends.
And I've known a lot of these guys for a very long time.
Sandman's, like, the newest dude.
He's the wildcard.
I met him at work and he just quit his job the best way ever, like, three days ago.
Cool. I should walk out.
Yeah, except, like, they're very sinister style.
Shhh.
I mean, thematically, the first record, I would say, like, it goes everywhere from just, like, love songs, I guess,
but not really, like, failed love songs, maybe, to, like, the last song on the record's called anxiety.
And it's basically about that.
Most of the stuff is, like, honestly not about very, like, cheery, like, feel-good type stuff,
but, like, it sounds pretty poppy.
And I kind of, I've always been a big fan of, like, catchy, poppy, melodic songwriting,
where, like, you listen to it and you're like, oh, wow, that's cool.
Like, yeah, I kind of, like, you know, I want to, like, put my windows down in my car
and drive in the summer blaring it or something.
But then, when you actually listen to the lyrics, like, they're really super depressing.
I don't know.
You know, that track, Klaus, is actually secretly about Kassel Depp.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
